The
very first person to get their Taste of Home Cooking School
ticket Monday morning was Joyce Blazier of Versailles.
Blazier camped out early and sat in her lawn chair at the door
of Ripley Publishing Co. She waited patiently until the doors
opened promptly at 8:00 a.m. and was the first person to exchange
$10 for a ticket to a night filled with excitement at the South
Ripley Elementary School gymnasium on November 8.
The doors will open at 5 p.m. with a variety of booths available
for those attending to browse through. They can not only get
information, but items will be sold at the booths as well.
There will be a thrilling evening with Dana Elliott, culinary
artist from Taste of Home, taking the stage at 7:00 p.m. to
share easy-to-make recipes with those attending.
Door prizes will be awarded and everyone attending will be given
a goodie bag filled with two magazines from Taste of Home, and
much more.
Those attending are asked to bring canned goods that will be
given to local food pantries for the upcoming season.
There are more tickets available. They can be purchased at the
office of Ripley Publishing Co. at 115 S. Washington Street,
Versailles, or you can call and have them mailed to you. Dont
delay. Get your tickets now. This has been a popular event in
the past with tickets being snatched up quickly. There is limited
seating, so now is the time to get your ticket so you wont
be left out.
You can call the newspaper office at 689-6364 to have your ticket
mailed to you.
The cooking school is being brought to Versailles by Ripley
Publishing Co., publishers of the Osgood Journal and
The Versailles Republican, along with these major sponsors:
Versailles Super Market, Southeastern Indiana REMC, Decatur
County Memorial Hospital, Friendship State Bank, Tom Tepe AutoCenter,
Four Seasons Heating and Cooling, plus many other sponsors who
are making the event possible. Please patronize these places
who are community minded.
