David E. Ison, 46 of Glenwood, has now been charged with the murders of five Franklin County residents: Angela A. Napier, Jacob L. Napier, Roy D. Napier, Melissa Napier and Henry X. Smith. He was formally charged with the five murders in Franklin County Circuit Court on Friday, October 7. He was a person of interest almost from the beginning of the investigation in the murders when police responded to a call to find that five people had been shot on Sunday, September 25.

Ison is still incarcerated in the Ripley County Jail on charges of Attempted Robbery as of Monday, October 10 according to Ripley County Sheriff Tom Grills.

Ison, and an alleged accomplice, Amanda A. Napier, 34, also of Glenwood, are accused of attempted robbery at the G.A. Triplett and Son Pharmacy at Osgood on May 9. She is being held at the jail in Decatur County and will be arraigned on Wednesday, October 12 in Ripley County Circuit Court.

Ison’s bond in Ripley County is $5 million dollars.

Indiana State Police detectives say that through their investigation of Ison they presented evidence to the Franklin County prosecutor that resulted in the charges of murder being brought against Ison.
