Jean Jones
Paula Jean Jones, 51, of Osgood passed away Wednesday, September
21, 2011 at her home. She was born in Cincinnati on February
29, 1960 the daughter of Donald and Jean Melzer Hicks. She was
married to Marshall Jones on August 30, 1980 and he survives.
Other survivors include her parents Donald and Jean Hicks of
Cincinnati; two sons, Thomas Jones of Osgood and Adam (Kristina)
Jones of Holton; two daughters, Jennifer (Trevor) Asche of Versailles
and Kelli Jones and her companion Joel Carter of Osgood; eight
grandchildren; seven brothers Mark (Bev) Hicks, Robert (Liz)
Hicks, Dean (Tina) Hicks, Jay (Rebecca) Hicks, Curt (Leanne)
Hicks, Gary (Gina) Hicks, and Ron (Michele) Hicks all of Cincinnati;
three sisters Jan (Steven) Hale, Joy (Joe) Neurohr, and Donna
(Rick) Neville all of Cincinnati.
Mrs. Jones was a 1978 graduate of Cincinnati Western Hills High
School. She was employed with K B Specialty Foods in Greensburg
where she worked in production.
Funeral services were held Sunday, September 25 at the Stratton-Karsteter
Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Don Buck of the First Baptist
Church in Osgood officiating. Burial was in the Greendale Cemetery
at Osgood. Memorials may be given to the Hospice of Decatur
County in care of the funeral home.

Sue Kraus
Carolyn Sue Kraus, 69, of Versailles, passed away Wednesday,
September 21, 2011 at her home. She was born February 6, 1942
in Aurora, the daughter of James and Margaret (Jackson) Dunn.
Carolyn worked at Thatcher Glass Company for 20 years and also
at Grand Victoria Casino.
Survivors include sons, Robert (Shelly) Billingsley of Versailles,
Jeffery Billingsley and fiancé Belinda Thomas of Greendale;
daughter, Teresa Henry of Rising Sun; sister Wanda Billingsley
of Aurora; brother, James Gary Dunn of Aurora; five grandchildren
and two step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her
parents.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 24, at Sibbett-Moore
Funeral Home, Moores Hill, with burial in the Forest Hill Cemetery,
also in Moores Hill. Memorials may be given to the Children
Cancer Fund. Sibbett-Moore Funeral Home, Moores Hill, was entrusted
with arrangements.

Wayne Tingle
Michael Wayne Tingle, 52, of Madison, passed away Friday, September
23, 2011. Funeral services will be held Wed., September 28,
at 11 a.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, Madison,
with burial in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Madison.
Visitation will be today, Tuesday, from 5-8 p.m. and Wednesday,
from 9 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Memorials

Jean Campbell
Mary Jean Campbell, 64, of South Bend passed away Saturday,
September 24, 2011 at her home. She was born at Batesville on
July 20, 1947 the daughter of Robert and Dorothy Wood Pettit.
She was married to Grover Edward Campbell on March 5, 1971 and
he survives.
Other survivors include one son Matthew Campbell of South Bend;
one daughter Denise (Ron) Strzelecki of South Bend; one granddaughter
Emily Strzelecki; her mother and stepfather Dorothy and Robert
Asche of Osgood; one brother Bruce "Skip" (Betty)
Pettit of Columbus; one sister Helen McNeely of Versailles.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Mrs. Campbell was a member of the New Marion Baptist Church
and a 1965 graduate of New Marion High School. She was a homemaker
and was employed with Villages of Indiana where she was a house
parent for abused and neglected children.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 27 at 2 p.m.
at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Randy
Thieman of the Shelby Christian Church officiating. Burial will
be in the New Marion Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from
12 p.m. until time of services. Memorials may be given to the
American Cancer Society or the New Marion Cemetery in care of
the funeral home.

Avanelle Bradley, 79, of Sunman, passed away Friday, September
23, 2011. Funeral services are being held Wednesday, Sept. 28,
at the Little Memory Old Regular Baptist Church in Sunman with
burial in the Little Memory Church Cemetery. Visitation is being
held today, Tuesday, from 5-9 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, Sunman,
and from 9:30-10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Memorials

P. Moore Walker
Louise
P. Moore Walker, a former Aurora resident for many years, passed
away Friday, September 23, 2011 in Lakeland, Florida. She was
born June 15, 1914 in Cincinnati to James T. Pace Sr. and Nettie
Postel Pace.
Louise was employed for many years in the Engineering Dept.
of Cincinnati Bell, and was a member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist
Church. She was a past matron of the Aurora Eastern Star, and
a past High Priestess of Unity Shrine & Guiding Star Shrine.
She was also the past president of Ohio State White Shrine Association,
and Amaranth Ideal Court in Cincinnati. She was also a past
District Rep. of Extension Homemakers.
Louise was married to Telford C. Walker, who preceded her in
death. She was also preceded in death by her son, James Robert
Moore, and two brothers, Richard Pace and James T. Pace Jr.
She is survived by her sister, Ruth E. Short, of Lakeland, FL;
her stepdaughter, Melinda Edgerton, of Lexington, KY; grandchildren
and great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be Wednesday, September 28, at 1:30
p.m. at Riverview Cemetery in Aurora. Pastor Jann Heseman will
officiate. Memorials may be given to the Aurora Foundation or
to Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church. Arrangements entrusted
to Filter-DeVries Funeral Home in Dillsboro.

Albert E. Miller of Aurora, formerly of Batesville, passed away

Carol
A. Hall
Carol A. Hall 86, of Greensburg, passed away Thursday, September
15, 2011 at Arbor Grove Village in Greensburg. She was born
April 24, 1925 in Franklin County, the daughter of Edward Adam
and Clara Belle (Minister) Linkel.
Carol
was born and raised in Franklin County and had lived in Elrod,
Friendship, Napoleon and moved to Greensburg in 2004. She graduated
from Whitewater Township School in 1943. She had worked in administration
and laboratory research for the H.C. Nutting Company at Cincinnati,
Ohio. She had attended the New Trenton United Methodist Church
and the Flat Rock Baptist Church in Ripley County. She enjoyed
reading and doing crossword puzzles.
Carol married George H. Hall in Brookville, on December 4, 1946,
and he preceded her in death on March 27, 1987.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Ortman of Westport; her
brother, Louis Linkel of St. Mary's, Indiana; her grandchildren;
Shaun (Kristy) Ortman of Greensburg and Kyle (Tarra) Ortman
of Napoleon; and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in
death by her parents and her husband George Hall.
Services were held on Monday, September 19, at the Bass &
Gasper Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Bartlett officiating. Burial
was at the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery at Napoleon. Memorial
contributions may be made through the funeral home to the American

Earl Dreihaus
David
Earl Dreihaus, 48, of Dillsboro, passed away unexpectedly Sunday
afternoon, September 18, 2011, due to injuries sustained in
a motorcycle accident. David was born December 3, 1962 in Campbell
County, KY to "Corky" Clayton Phillip Dreihaus and
Joyce Anne Lipscomb Dreihaus. He married April Raffignone Dreihaus
on June 25, 1987, and they are the parents of three sons, Dalton
Edward, Adam Ernest and Blake Phillip Dreihaus.
David was employed for several years at General Binding Corp.,
as a customer service representative. He enjoyed playing pool,
a talent he passed on to his sons, and he was passionate about
cars, having owned over 50 of them in his lifetime. David was
very mechanically oriented, and had the ability to fix anything.
He is survived by his wife, April Lynn Dreihaus; three sons,
Dalton, Adam and Blake Dreihaus; and father-in-law and mother-in-law,
Lowell and Kaye Raffignone, all of Dillsboro.
Friends may meet his family at Dillsboro United Methodist Church
on Wednesday, Sept. 21, from 5-7 p.m. A service of remembrance
will be held at the church beginning at 7 p.m. with Pastor Jann
Heseman officiating. The family asks that memorials be given
for his childrens college fund. Arrangements are entrusted
to Filter-DeVries Funeral Home in Dillsboro.
Orville
Joseph Kinker
Orville Joseph Kinker, 75, of Bright, passed away Wednesday,
September 14, 2011 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital, Batesville.
He was born September 14, 1936 at Enochsburg, to the parents
of Frank and Catherine Wessling Kinker. He married Rose Jane
Youngman on May 12, 1962 and she survives at home.
Mr. Kinker was an army veteran and a member of the St. Johns
Baptist Catholic Church of Harrison, Ohio.
Orville had been associated with banking and financing for most
of his life. He had worked for Key Bank of Harrison, OH, starting
around 1968 until when in 1987, he became the Chief Financial
Officer of JTM Provisions in Harrison, OH, and 14 years later
he retired.
Mr. Kinker was a past board member of the Tri Township Water
Corporation of Bright and had served as treasurer of the Sunman
Dearborn Middle School building committee in the late 1980s.
He was a member of the Harrison Kiwanis Group. He was a past
president of the Harrison Chamber of Commerce and currently
sat on the board of directors of the Harrison Building and Loan.
He especially enjoyed and loved his retirement by spending time
with his wife, children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening,
mowing his grass and washing his car.
Survivors include daughters, Jane (Tim) Otto of Brookville,
Janice Kinker and special friend David Wendelman of Greensburg,
Anne (Thomas) Lazard of Carmel; eight grandchildren; brothers,
Robert Kinker of Newpoint and Paul Kinker of Batesville; and
sister, Rita Mae Vanderpohl of Harrison, OH. He was preceded
in death by one brother, Ray Kinker and one sister, Mary Jane
Geis.
Funeral services were held all in one day, Saturday, Sept. 17,
at St. Maurice Catholic Church of Napoleon. Burial was in the
church cemetery. Memorials may be given to the American Red

John
F. Slater
John F. Slater, a former resident of Moores Hill, passed away
unexpectedly at his home in Puyallup, WA, on September 14, 2011,
he was 68. Born April 4, 1943, in Milan, John was the youngest
of Lloyd and Thelma Slaters three children.
John spent his youth with his siblings, Jan and Jim, in quintessential
small town America playing baseball and enjoying life surrounded
by a loving family. After serving in the Army he returned to
Indiana to complete his education and graduated from Xavier
University. He then entered the banking industry serving in
multiple positions in the Aurora and Lawrenceburg area.
In 1978, having tired of the financial industry, he packed up
his belongings and moved to the place he loved most, the Grand
Canyon. Ironically, it was the place he loved most that he met
the love of his life, Charlene Stillwell.
They were married in 1981 and later moved to Washington State
where they raised two children, Jason and Marion in Puyallup.
After retiring from the millwork business in 2006, John spent
his days surrounded by his friends and family, enjoying baseball,
antiques, traveling and his dog, Etta. But most of all he enjoyed
his last years being with what he loved more than anything,
his wife of 30 years. God bless you, John.
Your wife, children, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and
all your extended family and friends will never forget you.
Services will be held at Fir Lane Memorial Park in Spanaway,
WA on Wednesday, September 21, at 3 p.m. Donations can be made

Wilson
Ray Wilson, 84, of Batesville, passed away Saturday,
September 17, 2011 in Osgood, at his sons, Dan Wilson,
residence. He was born March 23, 1927 in Kentucky to the parents
of Ernie and Molly Rogers Wilson. He married Alice Mae Vankirk
on August 28, 1949 and she preceded him in death on February
17, 2002.
Survivors include sons, Dan (Anna) Wilson of Osgood and James
Curtis Wilson of Greensburg; daughters, Elizabeth "Betsy"
(Timothy) Stirn of Batesville and Mary (Art) Smith of Greensburg;
brothers, Shellie Wilson of Batesville and Gordon Wilson of
Osgood; sisters, Josephine Godsey of Milan, Margaret Petterson
of Cincinnati, OH, Cora Lee Craft of Middletown, OH, Faye Paxton
of Danville, IL, and Judy Wilson of Texas; seven grandchildren
and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three
brothers, Ernie, J.C., and Elsie Wilson and also one sister,
Clara Peterson.
Mr. Wilson graduated from Napoleon High School in 1946 and he
had been a farmer and truck driver for most of his life. He
was a member and past president of Versailles Senior Citizen
Organization, and a past member of Greensburg American Eagles.
Funeral services are being held today, Tuesday, at the Osgood
United Methodist Church at 10 a.m. with burial in the Booher
Cemetery, Napoleon. Memorials may be given to the Margaret Mary

Jean Steuer
Carol Jean Steuer, 71, of Milan, passed away Saturday, September
10, 2011, at University Hospital Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born
December 25, 1939, in Cincinnati, OH, the daughter of Richard
and Lola (Abernathy) Nolan.
Carol
worked for the Milan Nursing Home and did private health care.
She was a former resident of Lamplite Villa at Milan.
Survivors include daughters, Kimberly Hensley of Titusville,
FL, Lisa (Jeff) Cook of Milan, Diana (Gene) Worthy of Chesapeake,
VA, Pamela Reese of Milan; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
She had been married to Allen John Steuer who preceded her in
death and one sister, Louise Buell, also preceded her in death.

a.m. at the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan, with Pastor
Luke Hart officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington

Amy Christina Lilly, 31, of Milan, passed away Thursday, September
9, 2011, at University Hospital Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born
January 26, 1980, in Cincinnati, OH, the daughter of Rodney
and Trudy (Hood) Lilly.
Amy attended New Horizons and loved riding in cars and listening
to music.
Survivors include her parents, Rodney and Trudy Lilly of Milan;
brother, Rodney Lilly, Jr. of Moores Hill; sister, Sherri Ann
Smith of Versailles; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Dwayne D. McNeelan
Dwayne D. McNeelan, 65, of Holton passed away Sunday, September
11, 2011 at his home. He was born at Batesville on June 7, 1946
the son of Martin and Laura Richardson McNeelan. He was married
to Janie LaFollette on June 17, 1966 and she preceded him in
death on April 11, 1997.
Survivors include one son, Scott (Misty) McNeelan of Holton;
three daughters, Tammy Buell, Melissa Grigsby, and Melanie (Bill)
Fields all of Holton; nine grandchildren; one sister, Alice
(Ronald) Rayburn of Holton; two brothers, Martin (Beverly) McNeelan,
Jr. of Whiteland and Jim (Carolyn) McNeelan of Holton. He was
preceded in death by his parents and his grandson Derrick Buell.
Mr. McNeelan was a 1965 graduate of Holton High School and had
attended the Holton United Methodist Church. He worked in production
at Seagrams for 35 years retiring in 1998. Dwayne was an Army
veteran of the Vietnam War.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 14 the Holton
United Methodist Church with Pastor Bob McCreary of the Holton
Christian Church officiating. Burial was in the Holton Cemetery
with military honors by the Versailles American Legion. Memorials
may be given to the Holton United Methodist Church or the Holton
Cemetery in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home, Versailles.

Barbara Givan of Versailles passed away Monday, September 12,
