Eagles again meet at the midnight hour for season opening soccer
practice
Gary Franklin, Sports Editor
Keeping with a tradition initiated the first
year lights were added to the Jac-Cen-Del High School soccer
field, Varsity Eagle Coach Mark Jones assembled the troops for
their annual "midnight" season opening practice.
This year's co-ed Eagle soccer team finds but one girl on the
roster, senior Amber Crank. At least for the opening practice.
Not a weak link by any means, an optimistic and intent, Crank
gives 110% at all times in every sport she competes.
Many members of the Eagle team of last season graduated with
the end of the 2011 school year, however, underclassmen have
moved into potential position to take over their roles as Eagles.
JCD has a scheduled scrimmage against the Lawrenceburg Tigers
a week from Saturday, with opening season action taking place
in the opening match of the season against the Milan Indians,
coached by Kevin Walter.

The August 1, date was the opening day for IHSAA sanctioned
team practices for all the fall sport seasons.
JCD's soccer team was the first known to take to the field.
