Douglas Brinson
Richard Douglas Brinson, 51, of Versailles, passed away Tuesday,
April 26, 2011 at the Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg.
He was born at Batesville on March 22, 1960, the son of Richard
and Jo Ann Steele Brinson.
Survivors include one son, Eric (Ashley) Kegley of Versailles;
grandson, Ely Kegley; one brother, Marty (Dawn) Brinson of Versailles;
two sisters, Diana Sturgill of Norton, VA, and Kathy (Roy) Dobbs
of New Marion. He was preceded in death by his parents and his
sister Marilyn Phelps.
Mr. Brinson was a former employee of Waynes Meats in Milan
and had worked at the Ogle Haus in Vevay. He attended the Wesleyan
Church in Versailles.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 30, at 10:30 a.m.
at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Dr.
John Hundley officiating. Burial will be in the Benham Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, from 5-8 p.m. Memorials may be given
to the Benham Cemetery or the Versailles Wesleyan Church in
care of the funeral home.

Wednesday morning, April 20, 2011, at Dearborn County Hospital
at Lawrenceburg. Arrangements are pending at Laws-Carr-Moore

L. Hopper
Barbara L. Hopper, 83, of Madison, passed away
Monday, April 11, 2011. Funeral services will be held Saturday,
April 16 at 1 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in
Madison, with burial in the Grandview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum
near Madison. Visitation will be on Friday, from 4-8 p.m. and
Saturday from 12 noon until time of services at the funeral
home. Memorials may be given to the Boystown or American Cancer
Society. Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, Madison, is entrusted
with arrangements.
Richard J. (Dick) Tingle
Richard J. (Dick) Tingle, 72, of Kokomo, passed away Tuesday,
April 12, 2011 at Howard Regional Health Campus. He was born
January 25, 1939 in Trimble County, KY, the son of Raymond and
Lennie (Elston) Tingle. He married Jean L. (Wallace) Tingle
on January 25, 1963 in Frankfort, and she survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Faith Tingle of Goshen,
KY, and Christina Shanlis of Almont, MI; three grandsons, Christopher
Duvall, Jacob Kurdys, and Hunter Thacker; two sisters, Diana
Poling (Dave) of Madison and Kay (Lynn) Coomer of Holden. He
was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.
Mr. Tingle retired in 1997 from GM after 32 years of service
as a Millwright. He graduated from Cross Plains High School.
Dick was a member of the Main Street Christian Church and attended
Cross Roads Community Church. He was also a member of the UAW
Local 292.
Dick enjoyed golfing, watching NASCAR and playing on the computer.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 16, at Stout and
Son Funeral Home, Russiaville Chapel, 200 East Main Street,
Russiaville, IN, with Pastor Jeff Harlow and Pastor Ron DeGraff
officiating. Burial will follow at Albright Cemetery. Visitation
will be from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, April 15 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Cross Roads Community
Church or the Cancer Society. Stout and Son Funeral Home in
entrusted with arrangements.
Jeffrey Sims
Jeffrey Sims, 49, of Osgood, passed away Tuesday, April 12,
2011, at Indiana University North Hospital at Indianapolis.
Jeff was born December 19, 1961 in Indianapolis, the son of
Shelby Leonard and Nella Faye (Phillips) Sims.
He is survived by his parents, Shelby Leonard and Faye Sims
of Osgood; aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death
by a sister, Melissa Sims in 1983.
Services will be held Saturday, April 16, at 2 p.m. at the Pipe
Creek Freewill Baptist Church at Penntown with Pastor David
Phillips officiating. Visitation will also be Saturday, from
1-2 p.m. at the church. Memorials may be given to the Cystic
Fibrosis Foundation. Sibbett-Moore Funeral Home, Moores Hill,
is entrusted with arrangements.

James Paul Loichinger, 65, of Sunman, passed away Monday, April
11, 2011. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 16,
at 10 a.m. at the Holy Family Church in Oldenburg with burial

p.m. at the Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, who is entrusted

Barbara
Corning
Barbara Corning, 89, of Versailles, passed away Wednesday, April
6, 2011 at Hickory Creek in Madison. She was born at Bloomington
on September 19, 1921, the daughter of Oscar and Mary Brinton
Travis. She was married to William Corning on August 11, 1945
and he preceded her in death on August 1, 2005.
Mrs. Corning was a 1939 graduate of Bloomington High School
and graduated from Indiana University in 1943 with a major in
home economics. She had worked as a supervisor for Pogues in
Cincinnati, Ohio. Barbara was a member of the Presidents
Council of Purdue University and was a former board member of
Historic Hoosier Hills, Oxbow Inc., and the Ripley County Soil
and Water Conservation District.
Funeral services will be private with burial in the Cliff Hill
Cemetery at Versailles. Memorials may be given to the Roland
S. Corning Memorial Fund of the Purdue University School of
Civil Engineering in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral
Home, Versailles.
Vernon Edward Washnock
Vernon Edward Washnock, 66, of Versailles, passed away Wednesday,
March 30, 2011. Funeral services were held Monday, April 4 at
Humphrey-Taylor-Detmer Funeral Home in Rising Sun, with burial
in the Rising Sun Cemetery. Military honors were conducted by
Rising Sun American Legion Post 59. Memorials may be given to
the Hope Baptist Church or the donors choice. Humphrey-Taylor-Detmer
Funeral Home in Rising Sun was in charge of arrangements.

Ronald "Bud" W. Gunter, 45, of Batesville, passed
away Tuesday, April 5, 2011. Funeral services will be held Saturday,
April 9 at 10 a.m. at Adams Lutheran Church, south of Batesville
on Adams Church Rd., with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation
will be Friday from 4-8 p.m. at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville,
