The Ripley County Planning Commission held their regular meeting on Tuesday, February 8 rescheduled from February 1 due to inclement weather.

Ed Fraley presented the application for rezone from the R-3 district to the LB district filed by Toby Bolling. The application was tabled at the November 2010 meeting as requested by the applicant.

The one-acre property located on SR 101 in Penntown has an existing mobile home on the property according to Fraley. But, an inspection by the Ripley County Health Department revealed no records of a septic.

In a letter to the planning commission from Andy Bryant, it noted the area is flat with a high water table and clay soil. The letter also said that due to these conditions, no permits for a new septic system will be granted.

Because a septic permit would not be issued for the property, Fraley withdrew his application request for a rezone.

Sue French, French and Associates, presented an application for primary approval filed by Evelyn Robbins for primary approval of a one lot agricultural subdivision in Batesville. The application met all criteria and was unanimously granted primary approval.

Attorney John Ertel reported that he was continuing to address problem properties around the county.
