Kathryn Mae Stambaugh
Kathryn Mae Stambaugh, age 87, of Dillsboro, passed away Tuesday,
November 2, 2010 at Ripley Crossing in Milan. She was born June
11, 1923 in Dillsboro to Russell Whaley and Alice (Hornbach)
Whaley. In 1954 she married Dean Stambaugh, and he passed away
in 1975.
Survivors include four children: Max Whaley of Dillsboro, Melinda
(Dan) Murrone of Milan, Becky Fryman of Dillsboro, and Connie
Ryan of Milan; two brothers, Norman (Mary) Whaley of Lawrenceburg,
and Jim (Bonnie) Whaley of W. Carrollton, OH. She was preceded
in death by her parents, her husband and one brother, Ivan "Dudge"
Whaley.
Mrs. Stambaugh was a lifelong member of Hopewell Presbyterian
Church in Dillsboro She served as an elder, and ran the church
homecoming fair stand for many years. Katie worked for 37 years
as a beautician at Dillsboro Manor, and also owned Katies Beauty
Shop in Dillsboro.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 6, at 11:00
a.m. at Hopewell Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Charlie Hill
officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery, Dillsboro.
Visitation will be Friday, November 5, from 5-8 p.m. at Filter-DeVries
Funeral Home in Dillsboro. Memorials may be made to the Cancer
Fund or to Hopewell Presbyterian Church. Filter-DeVries Funeral
Home, Dillsboro, is in charge of arrangements.
Marilyn Ann (Hancock)
Huntington
Marilyn Ann (Hancock) Huntington, 64, of Nashville, TN, formerly
of Osgood, passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2010. Funeral services
will be held Friday, November 5, at 12 noon at Laws-Carr-Moore
Funeral Home, Milan, with visitation from 10 a.m. until time
of services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Little
Memory Cemetery Sunman. Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan,
is in charge of arrangements.
Robert C. Taylor
Robert C. Taylor, 79, of Aurora, passed away Monday, November
1, 2010 at Ripley Crossing in Milan. He was born January 18,
1931 in Rising Sun to Fleetwood Taylor and Goldie Mae (Gillespie)
Taylor. On September 8, 1951 he married Betty L. McAdams, and
she passed away on April 4, 2004.
Survivors include four children; Robert Earl (Melinda) Taylor
of Cold-water, MI, John Curtis (Doreen) Taylor of Florence,
Rose Mary (Kenneth) Louden of Canaan, and Angela Carol (Danny)
Slusher of Aurora; ten grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren;
and three sisters, Shirley McAdams, Joy Everhart, and Patty
Ferria. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a
child in infancy, in 1955; and four brothers, Junior, Alfred,
Wayne, and Eugene.
Mr. Taylor and his wife lived in Aurora for 37 years. He was
employed as a Ve-neer Miller at Peirson-Hollowell from 1955
to 1986. He was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Greendale
for many years.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 5, at 11 a.m.
at Filter-DeVries Funeral Home in Dillsboro, with Pastor Charles
Miller officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery. Visitation
is being held today, Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the family toward a monument at Oakdale
Cemetery. Filter-DeVries Funeral Home, Dillsboro, is in charge

Gerald "Jerry" Corson
Gerald "Jerry" Corson, 62, of Spades, passed away
Monday, November 8, 2010. Funeral services are being held today,
Thursday, at 10 a.m. at the Kenneth L. Diver Post #337- American
Legion, Sunman, with visitation from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Burial
will be in the St. Stephens Cemetery in Spades with military
honors by the Sunman American Legion. Memorials may be given
to the Sunman Vol. Fire Department, Sunman Life Squad, Sunman

Anna Marie McMullen
Anna Marie McMullen, 5 week old infant, of Milan passed away
Friday, November 12, 2010 at Childrens Hospital in Cincinnati,
Ohio. She was born in Cincinnati on October 5, 2010 the daughter
of Robert McMullen of Milan and Jennifer Crowell McMullen of
Milan.
Survivors include her parents, one sister; Cheyenne of Milan,
paternal grandparents; Bob and Pam McMullen of Aurora, Cassie
Metcalf of Sunman, maternal grandparents; William and Judy Crowell
of Plainfield, John and Mary Wilson of Martinsville, paternal
great grandparents; Charles and Jo Metcalf of Sunman, Willie
and Cosetta Davidson of Manchester, Kentucky, Bob McMullen of
Aurora, maternal great grandparents; Clarence Gunter of Napoleon,
maternal aunt and uncle Lori and Matt Heald of Terre Haute,
paternal uncle; Brian McMullen of Aurora. She was preceded in
death by her brother Josiah in December of 2008.
Funeral services are being held today at 11 a.m. at the Cave
Hill Church of God in Versailles with Brother Pearl Cornett
and Brother Doug Norman officiating. Burial will be in the Hogan
Hill Cemetery in Moores Hill. Visitation will also be Thursday
from 9 a.m. until time of services at the church. Memorials
may be given to the Cave Hill Christian Academy or the donors
choice in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home.
Timothy R. Beebe
Timothy R. Beebe, 55, of Carlsbad, NM, formerly of Milan, passed
away Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Lakeridge Rehabilitation and
Nursing Center in Lubbock, Texas. He was born on July 12, 1955,
the son of Estol Ray and Marilyn J. Williamson Beebe in Milan.
He is survived by his mother, Marilyn Johnson of Carlsbad, NM;
son, Aaron K. Beebe and wife Gina and grandchildren Logan and
Brittany of Metamora; brother Chris and wife Rene Johnson and
their daughter Nicole Johnson and her daughter, great-niece
Chloe Johnson, all of Sturgis, MI; and nephews Chad and Shane
Johnson, sons of the late Brad Johnson from his marriage to
Tammy Mullins.
He was preceded in death by his father and brother Brad Johnson.
Mr. Beebe was raised and educated in Milan before marrying in
1974. He worked for Crown Zelabrack in commercial printing in
Indiana and had worked as a handyman in Carlsbad.
Services were held on Saturday, November 13, at West Funeral

Mary-Ann Mitchell Sainsbury
Mary-Ann Mitchell Sainsbury, 51, of Peachtree City, Georgia
entered into eternal life with God and Jesus on November 19,
2010. She was born in Greensburg, raised in Versailles, Indiana,
graduated South Ripley High School in 1977 and was a member
of the DAR. She pursued a bachelors degree in Nutrition
at Purdue University where she was involved in student affairs,
was a member of the Beta Sigma Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma Fraternity
and was captain of the majorettes.
She followed a career in Nutritional Sales Management. She married
John Sainsbury in 92 and was blessed with twins, Allie
and Hunter, in 1996.
She was a member of the Peachtree City United Methodist Church
where she was very active with Prayer Groups, Prayer Shawl ministry,
Sunday School, Bible Studies and Mission Outreach Projects,
particularly with The Bishop Judith Craig Childrens Home
in Liberia. Mary-Ann tirelessly volunteered in a multitude of
community, school and scouting programs and was especially talented
for inspiring participation and achievement.
Mrs. Sainsbury was preceded in death by her father, James H.
Mitchell. She is survived by her devoted husband, John and her
loving children, Hunter and Allie of Peachtree City. She is
also survived by her mother, Louise Mitchell of Versailles,
and her sister, Susan Mitchell of Binghamton, NY.
Family will receive friends Saturday, November 27th at 10:00am
with a celebration of her life following at 11am at the Stratton-Karsteter
Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. James Byerly of the Tyson
United Methodist Church officiating.
A private interment will follow at the Cliff Hill Cemetery in
Versailles. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Relay
for Life or the Cliff Hill Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
Marguerite Louise Hook Carroll Couvillion
Marguerite Louise Hook Carroll Couvillion, 77, formerly of Osgood,
and Columbus, Indiana, died Monday, November 15, 2010, at her
home in San Rafael, CA. Mrs. Couvillion was born in Pierceville,
Indiana on January 16, 1933, the daughter of the late Benjamin
F. and Thelma I. Day Hook.
She first married Robert Carroll of Florida in 1957. This marriage
ended in 1962. In 1982 she married Richard Couvillion and he
survives.
She was a 1951 graduate of Osgood High School and in 1955 received
a Bachelor of Science degree in business from Indiana University
in Bloomington. She was an accountant with Irwin Management
in Columbus, Indiana in the 1960s and later held similar positions
in Denver and in Los Angeles. She worked as a senior accountant
for Levi Strauss Inc. in San Francisco for 22 years before she
retired in 1992. Her interests included photography, prize-winning
baking and travel.
Other survivors include her husbands children from a previous
marriage: Celeste Couvillion (Rich) Bonfiglio of San Geronimo,
their daughters Nina of San Rafael and Marissa of Woodacre;
Marc (Lori) Couvillion, their daughters Madison and Kamryn,
all of American Canyon; and Elyse Marie Couvillion, of Alameda.
Mrs. Couvillion is survived by her sisters, Nancy M. Bruns of
Plainfield, IN, Sarah A. (Gerald) Webster of Columbus, IN and
Port Orange, FL, and Clara I. (Leslie) Jackman of Columbus,
IN; brother, James E. (Patricia) Hook of Mt. Gilead, OH; nephews,
Andrew and Christopher Hook, Leslie Jackman Jr. and Timothy
S. Webster; nieces, Deborah Maschino and Rebecca Queener; and
16 great-nephews and nieces.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Couvillion was also preceded in
death by her brother, George B. Hook.
In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated with a memorial
to be held at her home in San Rafael, CA on January 16, 2011.
Burial will be at Valley Memorial Cemetery in Novato, CA on
November 29, 2010.
