A
bank robbery suspect is still on the loose, according to information
from Detective Michael Benjamin of the Batesville Police Department.
Last week on Wednesday, October 27 about 9:26 a.m. the Batesville
Police Department received a 911 call from FCN Bank reporting
an armed robbery had just taken place.
The teller did exactly as she was supposed to, Detective
Benjamin told the Osgood Journal. He said no one was hurt in
the incident.
Det. Benjamin said upon arrival police learned that a white
male had come into the bank, walked up to a teller holding a
note. The note said he had a weapon and he was robbing the bank.
The robber, wearing a mask, got away with an undisclosed amount
of money, according to police.
If anyone has any information regarding the incident, they are
encouraged to contact the Batesville Police Department at 812-934-3131.
The suspect was described as being a white male about 6 feet
tall with a thin build. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing
a Halloween style mask with white silky cloth connected to the
sides and back. He had on a blue long sleeved sweater with a
white tee shirt underneath, light colored khaki pants, and dark
colored shoes with light colored socks.
Officers from the Indiana State Police, Franklin and Ripley
County sheriffs offices assisted Batesville officers in
the search, which lasted for several hours. However, they were
not able to locate the suspect.
