Loyd F. "Butch" Kemker
Loyd F. "Butch" Kemker, 81, of Moores Hill, passed
away Tuesday, July 27, 2010. Funeral services will be held Saturday,
July 31 at 2 p.m. at the Sibbett-Moore Funeral Home, Moores
Hill, with burial following in Union Cemetery, south of Moores
Hill. Visitation will also be Saturday, from 12-2 p.m. at the
funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimers
Foundation. Military rites will be conducted by the Moores Hill
American Legion Post.
Carrol "Whitey" Adams
Carrol "Whitey" Adams, 66, of Sunman, passed away
Monday, July 26, 2010. Funeral services were held Wednesday,
July 28 at Cook Funeral Home, Sunman. Burial was in the South
Park Cemetery in Greensburg with graveside military honors.

John R. Holland
John R. Holland, 83, of Moores Hill, passed away Monday, July
19, 2010 at Moores Hill. He was born March 1, 1927 in Lawrenceburg,
the son of Emery and Nora Mae (Loomis) Holland. He married Anne
E. (Lane) Holland on December 26, 1947 and she preceded him
in death on February 5, 1995.
Survivors include sons, John (Cindy) Holland of Henryville,
Patrick (Charlene) Holland of Moores Hill, Steve (Lisa) Holland
of Jacksonville, FL, Rob (Friend-Denise) Holland of Petersburg,
KY, Chris (Cindy) Holland of Jeffersonville, Eric Holland of
Texas; daughter, Megan Holland of Madison; brother, Robert Holland
of Pennsylvania; sister, Luella Brooker of Lawrenceburg; 15
grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Mr. Holland retired from the US Military having served with
the US Marines 1942-1945 and the US Army 1947-1970. He served
with the 3rd Marine Division during WWII; the 187th Regiment
Team in Korea; and served four times in Viet Nam with the Special
Forces and was an original Green Beret. He received the Taskforce
of Omega award in 2004, for outstanding support and dedication
to POW/MIA efforts. In 2008 he received the Viet Nam Veteran
of the Year award and recognized by the Indiana House of Representatives
for his dedication to the United States of America. He was recognized
at the Aurora Firecracker Festival for having written a law
enacted by Congress for the humane treatment of POWs. Among
his many metals received were the Combat Infantry Metal with
Star, the Marine Corps Action Ribbon, and the Master Jump Wings
with 2 Gold Stars.
In retirement, Mr. Holland was an advocate of MIA and POW groups
and originated the Rolling Thunder organization. He was a life
member of the VFW and the Moores Hill American Legion Post.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 24, at 8 p.m. at
Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan. Visitation will be from
5-8 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given
to the Carnegie Hall at Moores Hill. Military services will
be conducted by the Moores Hill American Legion. Laws-Carr-Moore
Funeral Home, Milan, is entrusted with the arrangements.
Thomas E. Glass
Thomas E. Glass, 88, of New Point, passed away Monday, July
19, 2010. Visitation will be held Friday, July 23 from 4-7 p.m.
and services on Saturday at 10 a.m. all at New Point Christian
Church with Pastor Mark Vice officiating. Burial will be in
the Clarksburg Cemetery with military graveside rites. Memorials

Georgeann Mohr
Georgeann Mohr, 67, of Versailles, formerly of Batesville, passed
away Saturday, July 17, 2010 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born
May 31, 1943 in Orleans, the daughter of the late George and
Kate (Hill) Price. Her husband of 42 years, Arnold Mohr, survives.
Other survivors include daughter, Tonya Howser of Florence,
KY; son, Benny (Rebecca) Mohr of Versailles; grandchildren,
Heather, Jason, Candice, Joseph and Lakota; great grandchildren,
Grace and Canaan; sister Alice Hicks; half-brother George Price;
half-sisters, Robin Price and Sandy Parkes-May; stepsister,
Sally Schafer; stepbrothers, Robert and Leroy Fraker. In addition
to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara
Price.
Mrs. Mohr worked for Halcomb Tru Value Home Center in Versailles
as the office manager and in the offices of Hillenbrand Industries
for years.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 23, from 4-7 p.m. at Meyers
Funeral Home, Batesville. Graveside services will be Saturday,
at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Orleans, with Bro. Mike Williams

William Carl "Bill" Bruns
William Carl "Bill" Bruns, 77, of Shelbyville, passed
away Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Kindred Hospital, Greenwood.
He was born October 28, 1932 in Lawrencville, the son of William
John Bruns and Helen Marie (R

Kenneth D. Scott of Shelbyville and Edward J. "Jack"
Whalen of Auxvasse, MO; daughters, Melissa Susan Whalen of Columbia,
MO, Deborah (Raymond L.) Perry of Jasper, GA; six grandchildren;
sisters, Florence Hicks of Brookville and Mary H. Sturgen of
Osgood; brother, Robert (Carol) Bruns of Louisville, KY; many
nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. He was preceded
in death by his parents and one daughter, Barbara Jane DiNinno.
Mr. Bruns graduated from Milan High School in 1951 and was a
veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Korea during the Korean
Conflict as an artillery fire direction specialist. Bill was
an over the road driver with Yellow Freight System, retiring
in 1995. He was a member of the Shelby County Historical Society
and served on the Board of Directors of Grover Museum.
Visitation is being held today, Thursday, from 7-8 p.m. and
Friday, July 16 from 10-11 a.m. at the Freeman Family Funeral
Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, Shelbyville. Funeral
services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Raymond E. Durlacher
Raymond E. Durlacher, 79, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away
Monday, June 28, 2010 at his home. His wife of 47 years, Patricia
A. (Holzer) Durlacher, survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Raymond E. Durlacher, Jr.,
Theodore L. Durlacher of Greenwood, Frederick L. Durlacher (Natalie);
two daughters, Adele L. Durlacher, Ann M. Alder; seven grandchildren;
brother, James V. Durlacher of Mesa, AZ; two sisters, Marion
Durlacher of Blue Point, Long Island, NY, and Norma Harris (Al)
of Baldwin, Long Island, NY.
Mr. Durlacher is the son-in-law of the late Cletus and Rosella
Holzer of Versailles and the grandson-in-law of the late Mr.
and Mrs. John E. Holzer.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Durlacher.
Mr. Durlacher was a veteran of the Korean War. He graduated
from the University of Kansas as a Civil Engineer. He obtained
his P.E. in multiple states working for the government and his
own company, Durlacher Engineering & Associates, until he
retired.
Funeral services were held at the Christ the King Church with
graveside military honors at the Jacksonville National Cemetery.

Ronald Lloyd Dickey, Sr.
Ronald Lloyd Dickey, Sr., 83, of Batesville, passed away on
Saturday, July 3, 2010 at his home. He was born May 14, 1927,
the son of Herschel and Elsie (Freeland) Dickey, in Batesville,
as a twin to a brother, Donald F. Dickey. He married Carol Schein
on January 6, 1945 in Batesville and she preceded him in death
on May 4, 2005.
He will be missed by his 13 children: Janice Koeneman of Grand
Rapids, MI, Dale L. Dickey of Batesville, William Dickey of
Loveland, OH, Cynthia Linville of Batesville, Daniel Dickey
of Batesville, Amy Lauber of Osgood, Debra Rozales of Indianapolis,
Kerry Dickey of Waterloo, Kimberly Hastings of Carmel, Carron
Elser of Cincinnati, OH, Ron L. Dickey, Jr. of Batesville, Michele
Eich of Crystal Lake, IL and Andrea Wade of Batesville; 24 grandchildren
and 12 great grandchildren; along with his twin brother and
lifelong friend, Donald F. Dickey of Batesville.
Mr. Dickey was a veteran of WWII and served as Seabees (construction
battalions) of the U.S. Navy in Guam.
Ronald was a former Little League baseball coach and Boy Scout
leader, earning the Silver Beaver Award for his dedicated service
to impacting young lives. He served as a Batesville City Council
Member, President Pro-Tem and Ripley County Precinct Committeeman
for many years. He was a member of the Batesville Lodge F&AM
#668, he served as secretary for 33 years and was a past Master.
The 72 year member of the Batesville United Methodist Church,
served as Sunday school superintendent for seven years. He was
also a member of the Batesville Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie
#1130, American Legion Prell-Bland Post #271 and VFW Post #3183.
His active volunteerism earned him the Batesville Man
of the Year Award from the Batesville Jaycees in the 1960s
and he was honored by the Indiana State Legislature for being
an Outstanding Citizen.
After serving 40+ years at Hill-Rom as a Traffic Manager, he
retired in 1989.
Visitation is being held today, Thursday, from 3-8 p.m. at Meyers
Funeral Home in Batesville with Batesville Chapter #348 Eastern
Star Service at 8 p.m. followed by Masonic Services. Funeral
services will be held on Friday, July 9 at 11 a.m. following
a one hour visitation from 10-11 a.m. in the Batesville United
Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Marhanka and Rev. Larry E.
Dimick officiating. Burial will follow in the St. John Cemetery
with military graveside rites.

Harold R. Maybrier, Sr.
Harold R. Maybrier, Sr., 61, of Milan, passed away Thursday,
July 1, 2010 at his residence. He was born September 6, 1948
in Cincinnati, OH, the son of Edward R. and Nannie Marie (Miller)
Maybrier. He was married to Sheila (Stoneking) Maybrier who
survives.
Other survivors include sons, Richard (Rhonda) Maybrier of Milan,
John (Dye) Maybrier of Dayton, OH, Jerry Stoneking of Milan;
daughters, Sheila Ann (Mark) Sales of Sunman and Michelle (Roy)
Mitchell of New York; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded
in death by a grandson, Christian Loi Mitchell, his parents,
sister- Geraldine Beach and brother- Robert Gene "Bobby"
Maybrier.
Mr. Maybrier was a truck driver for Stanley Trucking and was
a member of the House of Power and Prayer at New Trenton. He
was a member of the Servants of the Cross Christian musical
group.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 6, at Laws-Carr-Moore
Funeral Home in Milan with Brother George Savage, Brother David
Heinzelman and Pastor Sissy Esterkamp officiating. Memorials

Cletus A. Wagner
Cletus A. Wagner, age 79 of Osgood, died July 1, 2010 at his
residence. He was born September 8, 1930 in Ripley County, to
the parents of Wm. G. Wagner Sr. and Mary Catherine Brunner
Wagner. He married Eileen M. Thole October 10, 1956 and she
survives at home.
Other survivors include sons, Thomas A. (Carol) Wagner of Pickerington,
OH, Kenneth J. (Donna) Wagner of Osgood, Robert D. (Linda) Wagner
of Batesville, Jeffrey P. (Suzanne) Wagner of Osgood; daughters,
Marlene K. (Joe) Prickel of Batesville, and Janice E. (Mike)
Simon of Osgood; 17 grandchildren; brothers, Wm. G Wagner and
Richard Wagner, both of Osgood; and sister, Burdella Brancamp
of Greensburg. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Paul,
Maurice and Donald Wagner and one sister: Wilma Julia Peetz.
Mr. Wagner was a member of the St. Maurice Catholic Church in
Napoleon, and a navy veteran and was a farmer. He was a member
of Napoleon VFW and a former employee of Crown (Printpack) of
Greensburg and Osgood Grain. In 2005 he was inducted into the
Ripley County Basketball Hall of Fame.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 3, at St. Maurice
Catholic Church, Napoleon, with burial in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Jac-Cen-Del Community Scholarship
Foundation or St. Maurice Catholic Church building fund c/o

David Leroy Lauber
David Leroy Lauber, 59, of Columbus, passed away Thursday, July
1, 2010 at his home. He was born October 25, 1950 at Greensburg,
the son of Raymond W. Lauber and Mabel Huffmeyer Lauber. He
married Kimberley Branch Lauber in November 2008 and she survives.
Other survivors include son, Nicholas David Lauber of Columbus;
daughter, Kimberly Nicole (Jeremy) Crowhorn of Scottsburg; brothers,
Irvin (Brenda) Lauber of Plant City, FL, and Bill (Amy) Lauber
of Osgood; sisters, Linda (Roger) Furlow of Osgood and Glenna
(Gary) Goforth of Dillsboro; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces
and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and numerous
aunts and uncles.
Mr. Lauber was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was employed
by Cummins Engine Company for 40 years. He was a member of the
St. Johns Lutheran Church in Napoleon.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 5, at St. Johns
Lutheran Church in Napoleon with burial in the church cemetery.

Ada Hogston
Ada Hogston, 65, of Osgood, passed away Monday, July 5, 2010.
She was born on Saturday, August 12, 1944 in Athel, KY, the
daughter of the late Melvin and Sara (Hatch) Banks. She married
Robert Hogston and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include son, Robert (Tammy) Hogston, II; daughter,
Lynn (Earl) Courtney; two brothers, Larry Robinson and William
Robinson; four sisters, Lorene Robinson, Irene Milligan, Bernice
Robinson and Mandy Stout; and six grandchildren.
Mrs. Hogston was a member of the Bridge of Hope Church and worked
as a Production Supervisor for Hillenbrand.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 9, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
at the Fitch-Denney Funeral Home, Lawrenceburg. Funeral services
will be held at the funeral home at 1 p.m. with Rev. Larry Robinson

Elmo Elliott
Elmo Elliott, 94, of Milan, passed away Thursday, July 1, 2010
at St. Andrews Health Campus in Batesville. He was born February
6, 1916 in Covington, Kentucky, the son of John and Mattie (Mullikin)
Elliott. He married Helen M. (Naegele) Elliott on January 26,
1941 and she preceded him in death on August 18, 1983.
Survivors include son, Fred (Charlene) Elliott of Milan; daughter,
Dolores (Burley) Sigmon of Springfield, Ohio; brother, Melvin
Higgason of Madison, WI; grandchildren, Carmen and Chad Elliott,
Amber Shade, Elliott and Andrew Sigmon; great grandchildren,
Christopher Powers and Terri Shade. He was preceded in death
by his wife and a brother, Robert Elliott.
Mr. Elliott was a retired employee of 45 years with Farm Bureau
Co-op, a member, former deacon and treasurer of the Milan First
Baptist Church, a former board member of Lamplite Villa Housing,
and a member of the Sunman American Legion Post. He served his
country in WWII in the Army Air Corps.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 6, at the Milan First
Baptist Church with Pastor Harris Long officiating. Burial followed
in the New Craven Cemetery at Milan. Full military honors were
given by the Sunman American Legion, the Milan VFW and an Army
Unit from Fort Knox. Memorials may be given to the Milan First

Mary Ann Shinkle
Mary Ann Shinkle, 83, of Lawrenceburg, formerly of Dillsboro,
passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2010. Funeral services were
held Saturday, July 3 at Filter-DeVries Funeral Home in Dillsboro
with burial in the Oakdale Cemetery. Memorials may be given

Walter W. Wright
Walter W. Wright, 96, of Rexville, passed away Wednesday, July
7, 2010 at the Waters of Clifty Falls at Madison. He was born
in Indianapolis on March 19, 1914, the son of Walter M. and
Anna Fuehrer Wright. He was married to Neva Flint on September
10, 1937 and his wife of 72 years survives him.
Other survivors include three daughters, Phyllis (Earl) May
of Rexville, Sharon (Forrest) Sandefur of Greensburg, and Brenda
(Danny) Myers of Rexville; seven grandchildren; and 14 great
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his
son Wayne, his brother Wilbur Wright, and his sisters Dorothy
Culp, Helen Washmuth and Madonna Roberts.
Mr. Wright was a member of the New Marion Baptist Church. He
was a shovel operator for Kords Quarry at Versailles and
Tri-County Stone at Cross Plains. Mr. Wright also worked in
the CCC camp that later became the Versailles State Park in
the 1930s.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 12, at 11 a.m. at
the New Marion Baptist Church with Rev. Harold Carter officiating.
Burial will be in the West Fork Cemetery near Rexville. Visitation
will be Sunday, from 5-8 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral
Home in Versailles and from 10 a.m. until time of services on
Monday at the church. Memorials may be given to the New Marion
Baptist Church or the West Fork Cemetery in care of the funeral

Brenda
Kay Shaw
Brenda Kay Shaw, beloved wife and mother, died peacefully at
7:47 p.m. on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at the Hospice of South Central
Indiana Inpatient Facility. She was supported by her family
and friends throughout her twelve year battle with cancer. At
the time of her passing, she was surrounded by her closest friends
and family. She will be remembered for her quiet courage, kindness
and trustworthiness. She was 58.
The funeral service celebrating her life will be conducted at
10 a.m., on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at the Myers Reed Chapel
at 3729-25th St., Columbus, IN 47203 with the Rev. Dennis Aud
officiating.
Family and friends may call on Thursday from 9 a.m. until time
of services. In keeping with her wishes, cremation will follow
the service at The Columbus Crematory.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Hospice
of South Central Indiana or to the Westside Community Church

Born in Seymour, IN, on March 27, 1952, Mrs. Shaw was the daughter
of the late Ernest Edward and Dorothy Pauline Stroup Smith.
She married Frank W. Shaw on October 7, 1972, in North Vernon,
IN, and he survives.
Surviving with her husband of 38 years are a daughter, Christine
(Mike) Shaffer of Georgetown, KY; a son, Tom (Lisa) Shaw of
Weston, FL; four grandchildren, Robert and William Shaffer of
Georgetown, KY and Ava and Hudson Shaw of Weston, FL; two sisters,
Opal (Bill) Hardesty of Commiskey, IN, and Joy (Steven, deceased)
Barlett of North Vernon, IN; three brothers, Donald (Caroline)
Allman of Dupont, IN, Eddie and Dan Smith, both of North Vernon,
IN; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Shaw was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Shaw was raised in Jennings and Ripley counties and attended
school in Holton and was a 1970 graduate of South Ripley High
school.
She was employed by the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation
and from 1982-1997 she was a teachers assistant in Special
Education, English and Physical Education Departments at Columbus
East High School. From 1997-2010 she was the secretary in the
Guidance Department at Columbus East High School. She loved
working at East, where she was valued for her professionalism
and her kindness to both students and staff.
Mrs. Shaw was also employed by Brackens Steak America
for more than 15 years, where she was the supervisor of the
Cattlemens Association Food Booth at the Bartholomew County
4-H Fair and other venues.
She was a faithful member of the Westside Community Church in
Columbus, IN. Mrs. Shaw enjoyed spending time with her children
and grandchildren and collecting angel figures. She also enjoyed
spending time with her family and friends while camping at Kentucky
Lake and on her trips to Las Vegas.

of Srs. Of St. Francis, Oldenburg, passed away Sunday, June

Virginia M. Enzinger, 85, of Batesville, passed away Sunday,
June 27, 2010. Funeral services are being held today, Thursday,

William "Bill" Robert Aikins
William "Bill" Robert Aikins, 77, of Chapel Hill,
NC, passed away Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Durham Regional Hospital.
He was born April 28, 1933 in Osgood, the son of the late Delbert
Downey Aikins and Mary Temple Delay Aikins Currie. He married
Kaye Anne Davis Aikins on June 25, 1955 and she survives.
Other survivors include four children and six grandchildren:
William Delay Aikins, William Robert Aikins, II, John William
Davis Aikins and wife Eva Cowen Aikins and children William
Davis Aikins and Henry Cowen "Skip" Aikins, and Pamela
Aikins Pierce with her husband William David Pierce and children
William David Pierce, Jr., Joseph Madison Pierce, Joshua Logan
Pierce and Michael Ashton Pierce. He was also survived by niece
Melissa Brown Paty and husband Ben Hooper Paty, Jr. and son
Ben Hooper Paty III, cousin James Delay Bultman and wife Marsha
Smith Bultman and children James Bradley Bultman and David Louis
Bultman.
Mr. Aikins was educated at Osgood High School class of 1951
and was a Kappa Sigma at University of Mississippi-Oxford (Ole
Miss) 55. He served as Captain in the USAF OSI 55-57
before a lifelong career as principle of Danville Distributing
Co.
Funeral services were held at the Church of the Good Shepherd
in Durham, NC on Monday, June 28 at 10 a.m. with burial at Mountain
