Tuesday, July 20 in the early morning hours.
Ripley County Sheriffs Deputy Abraham Hildebrand was patrolling
the Osgood area in the early morning hours and saw four males
who were acting in a suspicious manner. They were near the intersection
of Walnut and Railroad Avenue.
Upon investigation, Caleb A. Smith, 23, of Lake Orion, Michigan,
was arrested for Possession of Marijuana. Delving further into

prior to the deputys arrival. This involved a drug transaction,
according to police.
Smith was incarcerated at the Ripley County Jail on the marijuana
charge pending a $550 bond.
Charging information for Fidell has been forwarded to the prosecutors
office with initial charges of Dealing Marijuana and one count
of Battery, pending an investigation.
Two other males who were involved in the incident were questioned
