Douglas L. Russell
Douglas L. Russell, Sr., 56, of Elrod passed away Monday, April 26, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove. He was born at Milan on September 10, 1953 the son of William and Evelyn Rahe Russell. He was married to Judy Burford on December 23, 1970 and she survives.
Other survivors include one son Douglas (Kindra) Russell, Jr. of Rising Sun; one daughter Renee (Scott) Huffman of Milan; four grandchildren; one brother William (Judy) Russell, Jr. of Batesville; one sister Rosella Duffy of Ellijay, Georgia; his mother-in-law Mrs. Peggy Burford of Elrod. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Russell was a 1971 graduate of Milan High School and was employed as a truck driver with Grammar Industries. He attended the Hope Baptist Church at Dillsboro and was vice-president of the Washington Cemetery Board.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 30 at 10:30 a.m. at the Hope Baptist Church with Pastor Tom Holt officiating. Burial will be in the Washington Cemetery at Elrod. Visitation is being held today, Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 9:30 a.m. until time of services Friday at the church. Memorials may be given to the Washington Cemetery in care of the funeral home.

David W. Hensley
David W. Hensley, 46, of Milan passed away Thursday, April 15, 2010 at the Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. He was born at the Christ Hospital on September 22, 1963 the son of Frances and Norma Crowley Hensley. He was married to Barbara Bagley on September 20, 1986 and she survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Nathan Hensley and Aaron Hensley, and one daughter, Rachel Hensley all at home; his mother, Mrs. Norma Hensley of Milan; one sister, Charlotte (Doug) Norman of Milan; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Patricia Booker of Lake City, Michigan, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Frances Hensley, his brother, Eddie, and his grandparents, Ed and Mabel Hensley and James and Christine Crowley.
Mr. Hensley was a 1981 graduate of Milan High School. He received his BS degree in engineering from Indiana State in 1986 and received his Masters Degree from Kettering University in Michigan. He had been employed with Hill-Rom in Batesville since 1988 where he worked as a mechanical design-engineering specialist.
David was a member of the Versailles Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and youth leader. He was also currently serving as president of the Ripley County Camp of the Gideons.
Funeral services were held on Monday, April 19 at the Versailles Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Cantrel and Pastor Doug Norman officiating. Memorials may be given to the Gideons or the Versailles Baptist Church in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home.

Lizzie Fisher (Beiler) Stoltzfoos
Lizzie Fisher (Beiler) Stoltzfoos, 88, of Rexville, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2010. She was born August 26, 1921 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Abram and Barbara (Fisher) Beiler. She married Samuel Stoltzfoos and he preceded her in death on February 21, 1995.
Survivors include one son, Christian (Sally) Stoltzfoos of Rexville; one foster-son, Christian Stoltzfus of Christiana, PA; four brothers, Ben Beiler of Gordonville, PA, John Beiler of Kinzers, PA, Abram Beiler, USA, and Jonas Beiler of Kinzers, PA; two sisters, Barbara Flaud of Gordonville, PA, and Annie Stoltzfoos of Kinzers, PA; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Elam, Christian, Jake, Henry and Amos Beiler; sisters, Rachel Beiler, Sarah Beiler, Mary Zook, and Malinda Petersheim.
Lizzie was a homemaker and very active in farming the family farm. She was employed as a clerk at the Valley Hardware in Pennsylvania from 1995-2007. She resided with her son in the Rexville community for the past year.
Funeral services are being held today, Thursday, at 10 a.m. at the Christian Stoltzfoos Residence, 3589 West County Road 800 South, Versailles with burial in the Ridge View Cemetery in Rexville. Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay is in charge of arrangements.

Alice Rita Leedy
Alice Rita Leedy, 89, of Lawrenceburg, a former resident of Dillsboro, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Shady Nook Care Center. She was born January 8, 1921 in Cincinnati, OH, the daughter of John Ludwig and Caroline Cline Ludwig. On April 16, 1946, she married Willis Harvey Leedy and he preceded her in death on August 18, 1996.
Survivors include three sons, Matthew A. (Angela) Leedy, of Aurora, Greg (Nancy) Leedy, of Villa Hills, KY, and Jeff (Dietta) Leedy, of York, PA; two daughters, Claudia Leedy, of Cincinnati, OH, and Stephanie (Owen) Branam, of Wichita, KS; 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother, Stanley Ludwig.
Mrs. Leedy graduated from Seton High School and Miller Business College, both in Cincinnati, OH. While living in Dillsboro, Alice and Willis and their family were communicants of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Aurora. She was a member of the Dillsboro Happy Homemakers Club for many years. In 2006, her health forced her to move to Shady Nook Care Center.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 23, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Aurora, with Fr. Stephen Donahue as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Cincinnati, OH. Visitation with the family will be Friday, April 23, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Filter-DeVries Funeral Home in Dillsboro. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimers Association. Filter-DeVries Funeral Home in Dillsboro is in charge of arrangements.

Nita (Richmond-Hunter) Chase
Nita (Richmond-Hunter) Chase of Vero Beach, FL, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2010. She was born on May 31, 1939, the daughter of the late Forrest and Onita (Boyd) Richmond and had two brothers, Charles Richmond of Indianapolis and Vern Richmond of Versailles who preceded her in death.

She was married to the late Hager Hunter and is survived by two children: daughter, Brenda (Ed) Ames of Fellsmere, FL, and son, Bruce Hunter of Vero Beach, FL. She has two grandsons: Todd (Christy) Manny of Vancover, WA and Travis Hunter of Chicago, IL; a granddaughter, Katie Hunter of Hartsville, TN and two great grandsons, Ryan and Jacob Manny.
Nita was a member of the Kings Baptist Church where she met her husband Lou Chase and were united in marriage for nine years, he survives.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 19, from 4-7 p.m., followed by services on Tuesday, April 20, at 2 p.m., both being held at Kings Baptist Church. She will be laid to rest at the Hillcrest Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Kings Baptist Church Building Fund: 3235 58th Ave., Vero Beach, FL 32966.

James J. Kreimer
James J. Kreimer, 63, of Milan, passed away March 13, 2010 at his residence. He was born February 4, 1947 in Cincinnati, OH, the son of Milton and Olivia (Nostide) Kreimer. He married Irma (Silcott) Kreimer on December 17, 1983 and she survives.
Other survivors include stepson, Michael McCarty of Indianapolis; stepdaughter, Cathy (Jason) Hughes of Osgood; brother, Bob Kreimer of Cleves, OH, Bill and Darrell Kreimer, both of Sunman; sisters, Joann Rackley of Fairview, and Betty Smith of Minnesota; several nieces and nephews and one granddaughter, Becca Meister. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Janet Cornly and Margaret May Kreimer.
Mr. Kreimer was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church, member of the National Muzzleloader Rifle Association, Sunman American Legion and the National Rifle Association and was an Air Force veteran.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 17, at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Milan with Father Frank Eckstein officiating. Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice. Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan is in charge of arrangements

Iona "Ony" Margaret Luhrsen
Iona "Ony" Margaret Luhrsen, age 87, of Aurora, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2010 at her home. She was born August 24, 1922 in Valley View, KY, the daughter of James Hughes and Lillian Nordica Hughes. She married Harry William Luhrsen on October 18, 1941 and he preceded her in death in May of 1994.
Surviving is her daughter, Bonnie Jean (Robert) Hudson, of Aurora; two grandsons, Jon McElfresh and Michael McElfresh; four sisters, Lillian Wagner, Edith Ransom, Jackie (Jack) Rininger, and Jean Nay; a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Hughes, and many cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers, John Hughes and James Hughes, and one sister, Norma Rueter.
Mrs. Luhrsen was very active in the Mt. Tabor community, where she was a member of the Washington Township Home Economics Unit and the Missionary Society of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church.
Funeral services are being held today, Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Filter-DeVries Funeral Home in Dillsboro, with Rev. Dennis Alstott officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery in Dillsboro. James (Bill) W. Kinnett
James (Bill) W. Kinnett, also known affectionately as "P" by his friends, 72, of Vevay, formerly of Dillsboro, passed away at his home on Monday, April 12, 2010. He was born in Lawrenceburg on October 3, 1937, the son of William Edward Kinnett and Juanita Martin Kinnett. He married Anna Mae Kuster Kinnett on September 1, 1956 and she survives.
Other survivors include one son, Bill (Christie) Kinnett of Frankton; two daughters, Debi Jones of Aurora and Linda (Robert) Martin of Moores Hill; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 17, from 5-8 p.m. at Filter-DeVries Funeral Home in Dillsboro. A private funeral service will be held. Memorials may be given in his memory to the Vevay Life Squad. Filter-DeVries Funeral Home in Dillsboro is in charge of arrangements.

Roberta Jean Hopkins
Roberta Jean Hopkins, of Osgood, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at Ripley Crossing in Milan. She was born October 31, 1931 in Dearborn County, the daughter of Henry Holland and Ada Mae McDonley Ake. She married Wm. Hopkins on December 2, 1950 and he preceded her in death on January 24, 2007.
Survivors include daughters, Virginia Peasley of Connecticut, Deborah Patton of Moores Hill, Judy Schebler of Osgood; brother, Wilbur Ake of Lawrenceburg; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Brenda Petro and three brothers, Elmer, Ralph and Irvin Ake.
Mrs. Hopkins was a nurses aid for approximately 20 years at Milan Health and Hospitality Center.
Funeral services will be all in one day, on Friday, April 9, at Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood. Visitation from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, with funeral services immediately following. Burial will be in the Cravens Cemetery in Milan. Memorials may be given to Rescue 69 or Rescue 30 in care of the funeral home. Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood is in charge of arrangements

Mary Margaret Orem
Mary Margaret Orem, 86, of Milan, formerly of Aurora, passed away Monday, March 29, 2010 in Milan. She was born Friday, July 13, 1923 in Newport, KY, the daughter of the late Harry Plummer and the late Margaret Reinsenbeck Plummer. She married Halstead Kenneth "Buck" Orem and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include sons, Jim (Terri) Orem and John (Darla) Orem, both of Milan; daughter, Nancy (Rudy) Mylor of Odum, GA; daughter-in-law, Lee Ann Orem of Aurora; half-brother, James Plummer of Albuquerque, NM; sister, Betty McIlvoy of Highland Heights, KY; 14 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; son-Stanley Orem; brothers, Charles E. Tole and Junior Plummer.
Mrs. Orem was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She worked as a homemaker.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, April 5 at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home in Aurora. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 6.
