Staff Writer
At the December meeting of the Osgood Town Council, Marshal John
Hegge said the police department will now be required to interview
all felony suspects by audio and video. He said this would result
in the need to purchase additional equipment at an estimated cost
of almost $15,000.
He also noted that as a result of work conducted in a pharmaceutical
diversion demonstration, the marshal has been asked to serve as
a Drug Recognition Expert. Training for this position will be a
week long seminar scheduled in February. Hegge requested the council
consider his attendance at the seminar.
According to Hegge, after the training, he will then have the opportunity
to train others.
Osgood Fire Chief Chris Lemen announced his resignation at the meeting.
Steve Linville will be the new fire chief, according to Lemen.
Lemen has been with the Osgood Fire Department for 30 years spending
13 years as fire chief. He thanked the past and current council
members for the years of working together.
