'08 Lady Shiners seal deal on ORVC volleyball title
Gary Franklin, Sports Writer

The JCD Lady Eagles played host to the Rising Sun Lady Shiners on their volleynall teams senior night, Friday, October 16.
The Lady Shiners claimed a match victory over the Lady Eagles in the JV contest by downing them two of the three games of the match. However, that proved to not be an easy task to say the least.
The LadyShiners won the first game by the score of 25-18 over the Lady Eagles. In the second game of the contest, the Lady Eagles sprouted new wings and captured the game 25-18 over the Lady Shiners. The rubber game of the match was a battle back and forth with neither team ready to go down to defeat. But in the end, the Lady Shiners won out with a 15-14 score over the Lady Eagles for a two of three game win of the match.
In the varsity match, the Lady Shiners solidified their ORVC championship title after defeating the Lady Eagles in three straight games by scores of 25-11, 25-19 and 25-9.
Between the matches, the JCD staff and fans honored the seniors players of volleyball, cross country, girls golf and soccer, along with their parents..
