Dustin Allyn Rump
Dustin Allyn Rump, 32, of Dillsboro, passed
away Friday, September 26, 2008 at Dillsboro. He was born
on October 24, 1975 at Dearborn County Hospital, the son of
Larry and Cherie (Harmeyer) Rump. He married Lorrie (York)
Rump and she survives.
Other survivors include son, Isaac Allyn Rump and stepson,
Ty York; two brothers, Devin Lee and Derek Tyler, both of
Dillsboro; grandfather, Arnold Rump, of Dillsboro; and numerous
uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, classmates, and friends.
He was preceded in death by one son, Mason Aaron; his paternal
grandmother, Evelyn (Shelton) Rump, and his maternal grandparents,
Carl and Virginia (Stevens) Harmeyer.
Dustin was a graduate of South Dearborn High School and Cincinnati
State Technical College. He was a member of Dillsboro United
Methodist Church and was currently employed by Belcan Engineering
Group of Blue Ash, OH. Dustin was an Engineering Designer
and CAD Operator at Belcan, and prior to his employment at
Belcan, he was employed at Siemens of Cincinnati.
Mr. Rump loved hunting, fishing, and the great outdoors. His
love of sports combined with the great love of his son led
him to coach Peewee baseball. He played Legion ball with the
traveling team, and was a son of Dillsboro Northcut Laker
Post 292.
Visitation is being held today, Tuesday, from 4-8 p.m. at
the Dillsboro United Methodist Church, corner of Bank and
Front Streets. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. on
Wednesday, October 1, at the church, with Rev. Dennis Alstott
officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery in Dillsboro.
The family asks to please make donations to the family as

Earl Bowling
Earl Bowling, 57, of Versailles, passed away on Friday, September
26, 2008 at Kings Daughters Hospital in Madison.
He was born February 9, 1951 in Brethitt County, Kentucky,
the son of Lonzo and Flossie Chatt Bowling. He married Barbara
Bowling of Versailles and she survives.
Other survivors include daughters: Trina (Jamie) Schutte of
Versailles, Chasity Fossett of Kentucky and Charity (Ron)
Thomas of Kentucky; grandchildren: Seth Schutte and Hayley
and Paige Fossett; five sisters: Louise (Wayne) Sipples of
Versailles, Lizzie (Sam) Turner and Lois Ochs of Kentucky,
Glenna Bowling and Gail (Alan) Siebert, both of Indiana; three
brothers: Ernie (JoAnn) Bowling, Elmer (Kathy) Bowling and
Lonzo Jr. (Cindy) Bowling, all of Indiana. He was preceded
in death by his parents and two sisters, Christine Bowling
and Geraldine (Jill) Turner.
Mr. Bowling had been employed of Delta Faucet of Greensburg
for 25 years. He was also an army veteran.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Sept. 29 at Neals
Funeral Home in Osgood. Burial was in New Marion Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the New Marion Cemetery. Neals
Funeral Home in Osgood was in charge of arrangements.
Robert C. (R.C.) Everage
Robert C. (R.C.) Everage, 85, of Milan, passed away on Wednesday,
September 24, 2008 at Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville.
He was born on November 27, 1922, in Emmalena, Kentucky, the
son of Aster and Polly Ann (Morgan) Everage. He married Reva
(Whisman) Everage on September 6, 1946 and she survives.
Other survivors include son, Robert A. (Linda) Everage of
Milan; daughters, Tena (Michael) Price of Hotchkiss, Colorado
and Cheri Ratliff of Milan; nine grandchildren and six great
grandchildren; brother, Carter Everage of Milan; and sister
Elaine Kemker of Milan.
Mr. Everage was a 1940 graduate of Versailles High School
and a 1950 graduate of Purdue University. He was an agriculture
teacher before joining the US Air Force in WWII. He later
re-enlisted in the army and served during Korea and Vietnam.
After retirement from service, he and his wife, Reva, owned
and operated the Delaware General Store for several years.
He had served on the board of directors for the Elrod Water
Company.
Mr. Everage was a member of the Delaware United Methodist
Church; past State Director of Newmar Kountry Klub International;
Campking Group and a former member of the Milan American Legion.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Sept. 29 at Laws-Carr-Moore
Funeral Home in Milan with Rev. LaJo Dunbar and Rev. Carl
Martin officiating. Burial was in the New Craven Cemetery
in Milan with military graveside rites held by the Milan American
Legion Post 235. Memorials may be given to the Delaware United
Methodist Church. Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan was
in charge of arrangements.
Billie Dobson
Billie Dobson, 85, of Milan, passed away on Saturday, September
27, 2008 at Ripley Crossing in Milan. She was born on January
7, 1923 in Hazard, KY, the daughter of William Brown and Clara
Strong Wooton. She married Astor Dobson on May 27, 1946 and
he preceded her in death in December 1990.
Survivors include son, Harry T. Dobson of Milan, five grandchildren
and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by
daughter, Donna Kay Norman and five brothers.
Mrs. Dobson was a member of the Holman Christian Union Church.
She had owned and operated Dobson Grocery in Moores Hill;
had worked at Miller Shell Station and was a housewife.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 1 from 9-11 a.m.
at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan with funeral services
to follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Tom Holt officiating. Burial
will be in the Hogan Hill Cemetery in Moores Hill. Laws-Carr-Moore

Margaret G. Dunn
Margaret G. Dunn, 90, of Dillsboro, passed away on Saturday,
September 27, 2008. Visitation will be held on Wednesday,
Oct. 1 from 12-2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Aurora
with funeral services following. Burial will be in the Riverview
Cemetery in Aurora. Memorials may be given to the Waters of

Virginia Risk
Virginia Risk, 56, of Hobart, formerly of Versailles,
passed away Friday, September 26, 2008 at the Porter Memorial
Hospital in Valparaiso. She was born at Milan on March 5,
1952 the daughter of W. Gordon and Louise Batchelor Hughes.
She is survived by her mother Mrs. Louise Hughes of Greenwood;
daughters Jennifer (Rob) Vawter of Rock Hill, South Carolina,
Kimberly (Scott) Funke, and Kaylene Wagner both of Hobart;
sisters, Sally (Bobby) Wetzler and Joy (Ken) Cappel both of
Versailles, Ethel Snyder of Grandview, Washington,. and Dawn
(Chris) Kamman of Greenwood. She was preceded in death by
her father and an infant brother and sister.
Ms. Risk was employed with Resorts Casino in East Chicago
as a security guard. She was a 1970 graduate of South Ripley
High School and was also a former employee of the Ripley County
Area Planning Commission.
Funeral services were held on Monday, September 29 at the
Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Burial was
in the Benham Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the American
Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.

Janet "Jan" Wiedeman, 68, of Batesville, passed
away on Sunday, September 28, 2008. Visitation is being held

Kathie E. Sanders
Kathie E. Sanders, 64, of Versailles, passed
away on Monday, September 22, 2008, at the Margaret Mary Community
Hospital in Batesville. She was born at Madison on December
30, 1943, the daughter of Clyde and Lillian Cracraft Smith.
She was married to Ray Sanders on February 14, 1988 and he
survives.
Other survivors include one son, Kevin (Cindy) Oleckniche
of Hamilton, OH; grandchildren Chad, Hope Grace, and Faith
Oleckniche; step-sons, Dennis (Lisa) Sanders and Mike (Evie)
Sanders both of Versailles; step-daughters Linda (Charles)
Shockey of Indianapolis and Patricia Renfro of Kentucky; one
brother Leroy Smith of Morristown; sister-in-law Helen Smith
of Versailles. She was preceded in death by her parents, her
brother Leon Smith, and her sister Joan Benham.
Mrs. Sanders was currently employed with the Ripley County
Clerks office. She was retired from the ASCS office
in Versailles and had also been employed with Empire Gas in
Osgood. She was a member of the Versailles Baptist Church
where she served as a deaconess.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 25 at
11 a.m. at the Versailles Baptist Church with Rev. Don Humphrey
officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery. Visitation
will be held on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter
Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10 a.m. until time of
services on Thursday at the church. Memorials may be given
to the Cliff Hill Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
Esther Marie Delay
Esther Marie Delay, 81, of Columbus (formerly
of North Vernon), passed away Sunday, September 14, 2008 at
Schneck Medical Center in Seymour. She was born October 18,
1926 in Osgood, the daughter of Clyde and Bertha Rose Webster,
they preceded her in death. She married Jesse James Delay
and he also preceded her in death.
Other survivors include a son, Ted (Susan) Westerman of North
Vernon; two daughters, Janet (Greg) Burns of Columbus and
Fran (Huey) Campbell of Seymour; one step-daughter, Linda
(David) Huy of Mississippi; several grandchildren, step-grandchildren,
and great-grandchildren; and one brother, Earl "Buster"
(Betty) Beach of Midway, OH. She was preceded in death by
her parents; husband; a sister, Gladys Palmer; step-son, Basil
Delay; and a step-daughter, Sharon Delay.
Mrs. Delay retired from ITT after 26 years of service. She
was a member of the Lakeview Christian Church of Columbus.
She enjoyed cooking, playing euchre, rook, yard sales, and
fishing.
Funeral services will be Thursday evening at 7 p.m. at Sawyer-Pickett
Funeral Home in North Vernon with Rev. Rich Grant officiating.
Visitation will also be on Thursday evening from 4 to 7 p.m.
at the funeral home. Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Friday at

Russell F. May
Russell F. May, 84, of Hanover, passed away Monday, September
15, 2008 at the Kings Daughters Hospital, Madison.
He was born near Benham in Ripley County on January 28, 1924,
the son of William H. and Alta Tunks May. He was married to
Ottilie (Margaret) Kraus on June 28, 1969 and she survives.
Other survivors include one son, Fred R. George of Lawrenceburg;
one daughter, Lucia L. Landry of Pennsylvania; five grandchildren
and ten great grandchildren; two brothers, Estol May of Dallas
and Earl May of Rexville; three sisters, Lora Swinney of Versailles,
Lila Ziegler of Greensburg and Evelyn Meek of Madison.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Stanley
May and Leroy May.
Mr. May was a veteran of WWII where he served with the 93rd
Calvary Re-Con Squad in the Rhineland of Central Europe. He
was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the European Theatre
Ribbon with two bronze stars. He had worked for the Ripley
County Highway Department, Jefferson Proving Ground, and had
farmed. He was a member of the Versailles American Legion,
Ripley County Voiture 40&8, and attended the First Assembly
of God at Madison.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 18 at 10:30
a.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
Burial will be in the Grandview Memorial Gardens at Madison
with military graveside rites by the Versailles American Legion.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at
the funeral home.

Ruby Jean Hutslar, 77, of Dillsboro, passed away on Thursday,

Arthur W. Struckman
Arthur W. Struckman, 61, of Burkburnett, Texas, formerly of
Moores Hill, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2008 at VA
Regional Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born
on May 29, 1947 in Milan, the son of Louis Alfred and Alice
(Schumacher) Struckman. He married Glenna M. Fletcher and
she survives.
Other survivors include: son, Michael Wm. Struckman of Texas;
stepsons: Keith Fletcher of Texas and Kevin Fletcher of Wisconsin;
daughters: Jennifer Lynne Taylor of Greensburg and Heidi Lynn
Faulkner of Oklahoma; brother, Robert Struckman of Manchester;
and eight grandchildren.
Mr. Struckman was a Vietnam Army Veteran; a member of the
Moores Hill American Legion; the Vietnam Veterans of America;
and the Laughery Bridge Community Church near Lookout.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Sept. 15 at Laws-Carr-Moore
Funeral Home in Milan. Cremation will follow service. Memorials

Ralph D. Marshall
Ralph D. Marshall, age 86, of Dillsboro, died
Thursday, Sept 4, 2008 at the Waters of Dillsboro, Ross Manor.
He was born August 19, 1922 in Friendship, the son of Lorenzo
Marshall and Myrtle Delap Marshall.
In 1941 he graduated from Cross Plains High School. In 1942
he joined the US Navy and served during WWII. He was discharged
in 1946, and began working for Seagrams Distillery as
a bookkeeper. He spent 45 years working for Seagrams.
On May 29, 1948, he was united in marriage to Georgena Marksberry.
Ralph loved to refinish furniture for people, and he dabbled
in remodeling jobs in the Dillsboro area.
He was a member of the Scottish Rite and Hopewell Lodge #80
in Dillsboro, and the Northcutt Laker American Legion Post
#292 in Dillsboro.
Surviving are his wife, Georgena; daughter, Connie Jo (Kent)
Conover, of Lawrenceburg; three granddaughters, Carrie (Jim)
Fenner, Kendra Conover, & Kristin Marshall; two great
grandchildren, Lily Lynn Fenner and Jayden Fenner; one brother,
Norman F. (Linda) Marshall, of Pittsburgh, PA.
One son, Douglas W. Marshall who died on May 10, 2008, one
brother, Leonard Marshall, and one sister, Leona McKnight,
preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept 8, 2008 at 1:00 p.m.
at Filter-DeVries Funeral Home, Dillsboro. Interment with
full military rites was at the Oakdale Cemetery, Dillsboro

William H. DeBurger
William H. DeBurger, 83, of Versailles, died Friday, September
5, 2008 at his residence. He was born November 17, 1924 in
Ripley County, the son of Lawrence and Emma (Santschi) DeBurger.
Survivors include two sisters, Norma Sands of North Vernon
and Rita Kennedy of Milan and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. DeBurger was an employee of Halcomb Home Center in Versailles.
He was a WWII Army veteran, a member of the Versailles American
Legion Post and the Shelby Christian Church.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, September 11 at 6:30
p.m. at the Shelby Christian Church with Brother Randy Thieman
officiating. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at
the church. Burial will be in the Shelby Christian Church
Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Ripley County Humane Society.
