Ada Morris
Ada Morris, 68, of Versailles, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2005 at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison. She was born at Dillsboro on September 12, 1936 the daughter of Hubert and Ethel Kohlerman Mathias. She was married to Kenneth Morris on December 22, 1957 and he survives.
Other survivors include her mother, Mrs. Ethel Mathias of Versailles; one son, Philip Morris of Pikeville, TN; two daughters, Elizabeth Ann Saffran of Chesterton and Catherine Hamm of Batesville; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and one brother, Donald Mathias of Dillsboro.
Mrs. Morris was a 1954 graduate of Dillsboro High School and a 1958 graduate of Ball State University. She was a home economics teacher in Chicago Heights for several years. She was a member of the Tyson United Methodist Church and the Ross Run Chapter of the DAR.
Funeral services were held Sunday, August 28, 2 p.m. at the Tyson United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Hendrix officiating.

Carl W. Bryant, Jr.
Carl W. Bryant, Jr., 61, of Versailles, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2005 at his residence. He was born at Lexington, KY on August 30, 1943 the son of Carl and Dorothy Bruce Bryant. He was married to Pamela Long on May 28, 1963 and she survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Jacqueline H. Bryant of Versailles; one son, Jaime Bryant of Osgood; grandchildren Amanda Bryant, Audriana Bryant and Rachel Dolerhie; and one sister, Pamela Woodruff of Batavia.
Mr. Bryant was a machinist for Setco Industries in Cincinnati. He was a member of the Shelby Christian Church and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. The Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home of Versailles is in charge of the arrangements.

Carol Jean Russ
Carol Jean Russ, 36, of Cincinnati, died Monday, August 29, 2005 at Drake Hospital, Cincinnati. She was born May 12, 1969 in Whitley City, Kentucky the daughter of Terry and Florence Moore.
Survivors include one daughter, Elizabeth Danielle Russ of Evendale; parents, Terry and Florence Moore of Milan; uncle and dear friend, Lloyd (Barbara) Slaven of Vonore, TN; two grandchildren and several cousins.
Ms. Russ was a member of the Baptist Church in Oneida, Tennessee.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 3, 2 p.m. slow time at the Grace Baptist Church at Milan with Pastor Charles Miller officiating.

Clifford A. Walke
Clifford A. Walke, 77, of Greensburg, died Sunday, August 28, 2005, at his residence. He was born January 2, 1928 in Batesville the son of Leo G.J. Walke and Caroline Ollier Walke, both deceased. He married Edith L. Myers on April 11, 1958 in Batesville and she survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Rick (Theresa) Walke of Shelbyville, Dan Walke of Greensburg; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mary (Marvin) Vogelsang and Rosemarie Hausman, both of Batesville; one brother, Eugene Walke of Batesville.
Mr. Walke worked in the shipping department of the Federal Mogul, BCA for 33 years. He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church and a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean Conflict.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 31, 4-8 p.m. at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home, Greensburg. Rosary services will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 1, 10 a.m. at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greensburg with Msgr. Harold Knueven officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Greensburg with military graveside services conducted by the American Legion Post #129. Memorials may be given to the A.R.C. Endowment through the Decatur County Community Foundation.

Huber Henry Poske
Huber Henry Poske, 83, of Batesville, died Sunday, August 28, 2005 at Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville. He was born September 29, 1921 in Batesville the son of Fred and Ethel (Huber) Poske, both deceased. He married Doris Heitzman on January 10, 1942 and she survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Carol Roberts (Gary) of Dayton, Maryland; two sons, Dan Poske (Bev) of Indianapolis and Bill Poske of Birmingham, Alabama; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren; one sister, Alice Allen of Ypsilanti, Michigan.
Mr. Poske was a manager and former owner operator of Poske Hardware, Poske Fine Furniture and Poske Ford. He was a retired employee of the Batesville Casket Company. He was a 70 year member of the Eureke Band, a member of the Batesville Lodge #668 F & Am, Scottish Rite of Indianapolis and the Murat Shrine of Indianapolis. He was also a member of the St. Mark Lutheran Church.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, August 30, 4-7 p.m. at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville with Masonic Services at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 31, 10 a.m. at the St. Mark Lutheran Church in Batesville with Rev. David Smith officiating. Burial will be in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Penntown.
Memorials may be made to the Shriners Burn Institute or Wernle Children Home in Richmond, Indiana.

Weldishofer

Margaret B. Weldishofer, 90, of St. Leon, died Sunday, August 28, 2005 at the Brookville Healthcare Center in Brookville. She was born June 4, 1915 at St. Leon the daughter of Edna Stenger and August Feller, both deceased. She married Florian John Weldishofer and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include twelve children, Evelyn Weldishofer, Richard Weldishofer, Billy Weldishofer, all of Brookville; Jim Weldishofer, Bertha Jacob, Joe Weldishofer, Paul Weldishofer, Lawrence Weldishofer, all of St. Leon; Dorothy Barth of Harrison, Ohio; Wilma Burckey of Cedar Grove; Annie Darling of Yorkville; and Bonnie Mills of Sunman; 26 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and one brother, Tony Hilbert of St. Leon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Wilbur, four brothers, two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Mrs. Weldishofer was a homemaker and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Leon.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, August 30, 4-8 p.m. fast time at the Cook Funeral Home, Sunman. Herndon Gardner

Marshall Herndon Gardner, 93, died at Americare Living Center Thursday, August 11, 2005.
A native of Madison County, he was born June 28, 1912. He was retired from Delco Remy in Anderson after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Carthage Friends Church and Knightstown York Rites.
He is survived by his wife, Isabel of New Castle, whom he married August 31, 1937; two daughters, Marilyn (husband Melvin) Manning of Knightstown and Marabel (husband Steve) Lowring of Fort Wayne; two sisters, Laurel Bradburn and Alma Carpenter; seven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and sixteen great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marsha Karen Gardner, a brother, Eugene R. Gardner; and two sisters, Violet Henley and Miriam Young.
Services were August 15 at 11 a.m. at Todd Funeral Home in Knightstown with the Rev. Howard Addison officiating. Burial was in the Arlington East Hill Cemetery.

Thomas N. Fredrick
Thomas N. Fredrick, 60, of Batesville, died Friday, August 26, 2005 at his residence. He was born August 3, 1945 in Cincinnati, OH the son of William Fredrick and Virginia Kirkoff Burke. He married Deborah Bannon Fredrick on March 18, 1990 in Metamora and she survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Lisa Reames of Loveland, OH; one son, Douglas Fredrick of Greensburg; his mother, Virginia Burke of Miami, FL; his stepfather, Patrick Burke of Miami, FL; three brothers, William Fredrick of Sulfer Springs, TX, Harry Fredrick, Sr. of Batesville, Alfred Fredrick of Green Cove Springs, FL; two stepdaughters, Wendy Phillips of Eureka, MT, Teresa Fredrick of Batesville; two grandchildren; and seven stepgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by one step-son, Harry Fredrick, Jr.
Mr. Fredrick was an inspector for Batesville Tool & Die Co. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of St. Louis Church.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, August 30, 4-7 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home in Batesville.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 31, 10:30 a.m. at St. Louis Church in Batesville with Rev. Daniel Mahan officiating.

Bertha J. Schaefer
Bertha J. Schaefer, 99, of Sunman, died Thursday, August 18, 2005 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. She was born October 19, 1905 in Dearborn County the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Brichler, both deceased. She married Alfred J. Schaefer, Sr. and he preceded her in death on February 8, 1987.
Survivors include two daughters, Bertha Pfliegel of Osgood, Rosemary Conrad of Cincinnati, OH; eight sons, Harry J. Schaefer of Weisburg, Raymond J. Schaefer of New Alsace, Alfred Schaefer, Jr. of Batesville, John Schaefer of Sunman, Elmer Schaefer of Greenwood, Robert T. Schaefer of Batesville, Ralph Schaefer of Lawrenceville, Lester Schaefer of Blooming Grove; thirty-seven grandchildren; fifty-six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Eugene and Joe and eight sisters and brothers.
Mrs. Schaefer was a homemaker and a member of the St. Paul Church in New Alsace and the Ladies Sodality.
Funeral mass was held Saturday, August 20, 9 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church in New Alsace with Fr. Rightor II, Fr. Franck Eckstein and Mnsgr. Harold Knueven officiating.

Erma Jean Sizemore
Erma Jean Sizemore, 79, of St. Cloud, Florida, formerly of Holton, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at Orlando Regional Hospital in Orlando, Florida. She was born in Manchester, Kentucky on August 29, 1925, the daughter of Roscoe and Ollie Mae Fraley Sparks. She was married to John Sizemore, October 16, 1943 and he preceded her in death on May 2, 1998.
Survivors include two sons, Johnny Sizemore of Holton and Tony Sizemore of St. Cloud, Florida; one daughter, Charlotte Davis of Kissimmee, Florida; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren; one sister, Irene Reed of Manchester, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her son Glenn Sizemore, her parents, and her sisters, Ina White and Evelyn Keith.
Mrs. Sizemore was a homemaker and had owned and operated with her husband, Sizemore's Service Center in Holton for several years.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 22, at 11 a.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home, Versailles with Rev. Mark Walker of the Versailles Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery.

Ola Vae Simon
Ola Vae Simon, 65, of Osgood, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2005 at her residence. She was born March 13, 1940 at Line Fork in Letcher County, Kentucky, the daughter of Lou and Arnie Caudill Roark. She was married to Donald Simon on August 13, 1958 and he survives.
Other survivors include three sons, James Simon and wife Cindy, Wayne Simon and wife Brenda, Vincent Simon and Krystal, all of Osgood; five daughters, Karen Carroll and husband H.B., Shirley England, all of Osgood; Donna Sparks and Lonnie of Holton, Barbie Bultman and Ryan of Greensburg; and Dana and Mark Montgomery of Aurora; five brothers, Harley Roark and Jim Roark both of Holton, John Roark of Greensburg, Joe Roark of Osgood, and Mark Roark of Whitesburg, Kentucky and half-brother Richard Leach of Madison. Also surviving are five sisters, Anna Mae Ahaus of Guilford, Eula Sizemore of Madison, Bonnie Kieffer and Georgia Sparks both of Osgood, and Thelma Osborne of East Enterprise; four half-sisters Lola Woods and Bonita Halcomb both of Kentucky, Tina Wingate of Pleasant, and Martha Hammond of Canaan; 22 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Chelsa Simon and her sister Dana Craig.
Mrs. Simon was a homemaker and a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Osgood.
Mass of Christian burial will be held today, Tuesday, August 23 at 10 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church in Osgood with Fr. Frank Eckstein officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Audrey Alice Noll
Audrey Alice Noll, 75, of Sunman (Manchester), died Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. She was born September 11, 1929 in Cincinnati the daughter of William and Alice Lee (Schaeffer) Noll, both deceased. She married Russell M. Noll on December 7, 1970 and he survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Linda Craig of Osgood; one sister, Ginger Carr of Gallatin, TN; and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Noll was a homemaker and a member of the Community United Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 15, 11 a.m. at Community United Methodist Church with Pastor Duane Loos officiating.
Burial was in the St. Paul Methodist Cemetery south of Sunman. Memorials may go to the Heart Fund.

Michael Pritchard

David Michael Pritchard, 59, of Versailles, died Friday, August 12, 2005 at King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison. He was born May 19, 1946 in Indianapolis the son of Albert and Anna Mae (Schenck) Pritchard, both deceased. He married Martha Marie Lymburner on June 26, 1955 in Midland, MI and she survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Michael William (Tammy) Pritchard of Denver, CO, John Phillip (Stacey) Pritchard of Vevay; one daughter, Sarah Marie (Jerry) Troxel of Milan; four grandchildren; and four brothers, Dwaine Pritchard of Montana, Robert Pritchard of Arkansas, William Pritchard of Missouri and Daniel Pritchard of Arizona. He was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Pritchard.
Mr. Pritchard was a retired paramedic. He was also a member of the Versailles Community Church.
Funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, August 16, 11 a.m. at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville with Pastor Karen Clayton officiating.
Burial will be in the Laughery Cemetery in Batesville. Memorials may go to the family.

Edna E. Rummel
Edna E. Rummel, 87, of Moores Hill, died Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at her residence. She was born April 14, 1918 in Dearborn County near Chesterville the daughter of William and Augusta (Holtegel) Beatty, both deceased. She married Joseph R. Rummel on July 25, 1943 and he preceded her in death on October 23, 1997.
Survivors include two sons, Richard (Carol) Rummel of Moores Hill, Dale (Bonnie) Rummel of Moores Hill; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Herman, Alfred, Herbert and Freeman Beatty and one sister, Corrinne Arnold.
Mrs. Rummel worked for the former Whitlatch Clinic and later retired from the Ludlow Hill Clinic. She was a member of the Moores Hill Baptist Church and the Eastern Star.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 13, 11 a.m. at Sibbett-Moore Funeral Home in Moores Hill with Rev. Amanda Harting officiating.

William "Bill" Owings

Edward William "Bill" Owings, 80, of Vevay, died Friday, August 12, 2005 at Ripley Crossing in Milan. He was born March 17, 1925 in Pleasant the son of Everett Wesley and Harrie Ryan Owings, both deceased. He married Roberta Lee Owings on May 17, 1947 and she survives.
Other survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Mobrley and husband Darrell of Milan; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenn Owings and wife Joyce of Madison, Bob Owings and wife Kathy of Vevay; one sister, Ada Mae McClellan of Roswell, GA; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Hattie Werner, Gwendolyn Jean Owings, Anna Belle Elston and Mary Alice Garriott and one brother, Charles Owings.
Mr. Owings was a 1943 graduate of Vevay High School. He was inducted into the U.S. Navy on June 16, 1943 rising to the rank of Apprentice Seaman. He was honorably discharged at Great Lakes, IL. He was a farmer and a school bus driver for 30 years with the Switzerland County School Corporation. He was a member of Brushy Fork Baptist Church and former board member of the Pleasant Cemetery Association. He also received the Silver Star Award from FSA for farming.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, August 16, 4-8 p.m. (slow time) at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay and also Wednesday, August 17, 10 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
Funeral services will follow visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 17 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ron Lee and Rev. Tom Rogers officiating.
Burial will be in the Pleasant Cemetery with military rites. Memorials may go to the Brushy Fork Baptist Church or the Pleasant Cemetery Association.

Gloria D. Turner
Gloria D. Turner, 70, of Versailles, died Monday, August 15, 2005 at her residence. She was born May 19, 1935 in Dry Ridge, Kentucky, the daughter of Verner and Leora (Blasingame) Ashcraft. She married James E. Turner on December 16, 1966 and he survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Mitchell (Sherry) Butler of Mesa, Arizona, James E. Turner, Jr. of Versailles, David (Arlene) Turner of New Brunsfield, Texas; five daughters, Devona (Jeff) Bonta of West Chester, Ohio, Cynthia (Greg) Foley of Hidden Valley, Shelly (Richard) Horn of Cincinnati; Dara (Todd) Stutler of Versailles, Jo 'Nee (Tom) Cochran of Aurora; one brother, Howard Ashcraft of Dry Ridge, Kentucky; two sister, Wanda Matherly of Louisville, Kentucky, Barbara Turner of Dry Ridge, Kentucky; 20 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Mrs. Turner was a self employed real estate agent and worked as a bookkeeper for her husband at James Turner Accounting. She was a member of the Methodist Church. She was the 16th generation grandchild of the translator of the King James Version of the Bible.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 17, at the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 18, 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Stormy Scherer-Berry officiating. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Dry Ridge, Kentucky.
Memorials may be made to the Margaret Mary Hospice.

Helen C. Holton Herd
Helen C. Holton Herd, 83, of Logansport, died Friday, August 12, 2005 at her residence. She was born February 8, 1922 in Osgood the daughter of Dr. Charles E. Holton and Helen B. (Raymond) Holton, both deceased. She married Joseph C. Herd on December 13, 1946 in Versailles and he survives.
Other survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Jerry JoAnn and Michael Hudson of Culver; two sons and daughter-in-law, Tim E. and Jerrilyn Herd of Indianapolis, Tom J. Herd of Logansport; and grandchildren, Joe Hudson, Jill Hudson, Lindsay Herd and Justin Herd. She was preceded in death by one brother, Charles F. Holton and two sisters, Alice Row and Mary E. Hall.
Mrs. Herd graduated from Osgood High School, attended Indiana University and graduated from Capital University in Columbus, OH. She and her husband founded the Joe Herd Agency, Inc. in 1951 where she worked as a secretary for several years. She was a long time member of the Tri Kappa sorority, was a member of River of Life Christian Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3790 Ladies Auxiliary and had been a member of her Bridge Club for 54 years, all of Logansport. For several years she was the lead fundraiser for the American Heart Association's door to door fund drives. She had also been a member and secretary of the Logansport School Board and was instrumental in planning the construction of the new high school building. She also volunteered for Meals on Wheels and the Mary Dykeman Guild of Memorial Hospital, both of Logansport.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 21, 3:30 p.m. at the Cass County Memorial Center in Logansport. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Logansport.

Monsees Lindemann

Luther Monsees Lindemann, 88, of Batesville, died Saturday, August 13, 2005 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. He was born October 29, 1916 in Smithton, MO the son of Claus and Lydia (Monsees) Lindemann, both deceased. He married Rita Bauman on November 15, 1941 and she preceded him in death on July 15, 1947. He then married Juanita Neetz Wonning on November 25, 1949 and she preceded him in death on August 30, 2000.
Survivors include one daughter, Kristy Salatin of Sunman; three sons, Eric Lindemann and Greg Lindemann both of Batesville, Jon Lindemann of Little Rock, AK; ten grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.
Mr. Lindemann was the former owner of Lindemann Co. in Batesville. He was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran of WWII and a former Batesville City Councilman. He was a member of the St. Mark Lutheran Church in Batesville, the American Legion and VFW both of Batesville, 40 & 8 and Batesville Lodge #658 F&AM.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, August 16, 4-8 p.m. at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville.

Olive Frances
(Baatz) Green

Olive Frances (Baatz) Green, 73, of Vevay, died Thursday, August 11, 2005 at her residence. She was born January 19, 1932 in Lawrenceburg the daughter of Glen H. Baatz and Opal D. Lee Baatz, both deceased. She married Arthur "Buddy" Green on October 8, 1949 and he survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Kathy Burton and husband Jim of Moorefield; two sons, Larry Michael Green and wife Frances of Madison, Richard L. Green of Vevay; three sisters, Reva Lee Garrett and husband William of Shelbyville, Ramona Miller of Allensville, Gloria McFadden of Shelbyville; two brothers, Loyd Baatz and wife Janet of Center Square, Bob Baatz of Vevay; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Ettta Helton.
Mrs. Green was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Sterling Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Sunday, August 14, 1 p.m. at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay with Rev. Mike Sawalich officiating.

Betty J. Kirkham
Betty J. Kirkham, 75, of Harrison, OH, died Saturday, August 6, 2005 at Mercy-Franciscan Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. She was born November 5, 1929 in Cincinnati the daughter of Clayton William Bulmer and Anna Mae Saylor Bulmer, both deceased. She married Harry Neil Kirkham II and he preceded her in death. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Neilla and Keith Winsted of Brookville; three sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Sue Kirkham of Batesville, Philip Eugene and Teresa Hahn of Loveland, CO, Paul Dale and Crystal Bulmer of Ft. Wayne; one son, Harry Neil Kirkham III of Hamilton, OH; three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ann and Brad Barnhart of St. Francis, KS, Margaret Eileen and Gene Phannenstiel of Victoriaville, CA, Frankie and Greg Baker of Metamora; one step-daughter and husband, Sandra Kay and Robert Bulmer of Metamora; one step-son and wife, Bill and Stacy Kirkham of Rushville; three brothers, Bill Bulmer of Laurel, Stan Bulmer of Muncie, Robert Bulmer of Metamora; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Griffin and two brothers, Kenneth Ray and Clifford Dale Bulmer.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 10, 4-8 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home in Brookville.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 11, 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Cupps Chapel Cemetery in Metamora. Memorials may go to the charity of donor's choice.

Ida Helle Wolford
Ida Helle Wolford, 85, of Batesville, died Wednesday, August 3, 2005 at The Waters of Batesville. She was born June 3, 1920 in Greensburg the daughter of Harm and Flora (Redeker) Ogden, both deceased. She married Merle Laure Johnston on August 14, 1937 and he preceded her in death. She then married Donald Wolford on October 15, 1983 and he survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Barbara Krieger (Melvin) of Batesville, Linda Fassnacht (Brad) of West Lafayette; one son, Gary Wolford (Karen) of New Point; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dan and Tom Ogden.
Mrs. Wolford was a retired meat cutter at Mr. Ed's Store in Greensburg. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Greensburg and a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary #3183 in Batesville. She was also a member of the Eagles Lodge #1130 in Batesville, the Odd Fellows of Rebecca in West Port and 50 Home Economics Club in Greensburg.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 6, 10 a.m. at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville with Rev. David Johnston officiating.
Burial was in the South Park Cemetery in Greensburg. Memorials may go to the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Cancer Fund.

Karen L. Gregory
Karen L. Gregory, 61, of Aurora, died Friday, August 5, 2005 at Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg. She was born August 3, 1944 in Batesville the daughter of Carl Fry and Charlotte House. She married Raye V. Gregory and he survives.
Other survivors include one son, Kelly R. (Ladonna) Gregory of Lawrenceburg; one daughter, Krista L. (Ronny) Cook of Farmers Retreat; two granddaughters, Ivy Louise and Katey Mito Cook; and her mother, Charlotte House Fry of Aurora. She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Fry.
Mrs. Gregory spent 19 years as a psychiatric nurse at St. Luke's West Hospital. She also worked with Raye at their store, Gregory Jewelry, for 13 years. She attended school at Napoleon and Greensburg, graduating in 1962 from Aurora High School.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, August 9, 6-9 p.m. EDT at Filter Funeral Home in Aurora.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 10, 10:30 a.m. EDT at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery in Aurora. Memorials may go to the Aurora Emergency Unit or P.A.W.S.

Raymond J. Retzner
Raymond J. Retzner, 93, of Batesville, died Thursday, August 4, 2005 at his residence. He was born March 30, 1912 in St. Nicholas the son of Edward Retzner and Cecilia Brunsman Retzner, both deceased. He married Edna Merkel Retzner on June 9, 1943 at St. Anthony's Church and she preceded him in death on April 23, 2001.
Survivors include three daughters, Cecilia Copperwheat of Louisville, KY, Rita Gross of Greenwood, Helen Flanigan of Greenwood; three sons, Raymond Retzner of Exton, PA, Martin Retzner of Hanover, Joseph Retzner of New Palestine; one brother, Alvin Retzner of Sunman; twenty-three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Louis and Edwin Retzner and four sisters, Bertha Retzner, Loretta Orshell, Helen Madden and Evelyn Stock.
Mr. Retzner was a farmer and bus driver for 41 years. He was a member of St. Anthony's Church, a former volunteer of the Morris Fire Department, was a member of the Farm Bureau, was a 70 year member of the Batesville Eagles Aerie #1130 and was also the former Adams Township Trustee.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 8, 10 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church with Msgr. Bernard Schmitz officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery. Memorials may go to the St. Nicholas School or Morris Fire Department.

Selma R. Walsh
Selma R. Walsh, 91, of Holton, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2005 at Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg. She was born in Holton on March 24, 1914 the daughter of Charles and Mayme Wright Stagg. She was married to Walter Walsh and he preceded her in death on November 10, 1981.
Survivors include one son, Dennis Walsh and wife Bonnie; one daughter, Janet Mack and husband Travis, all of Holton; three grandchildren, Kevin Mack of Anderson, Rhonda Tunny of Holton, Terri Shelton of Pendleton; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Madge McClure of Martinsville. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Ralph Stagg and her grandson, Scott Walsh.
Mrs. Walsh was a 1932 graduate of Holton High School and was also a homemaker. She had previously been employed with McNeelan's Hardware in Holton and had worked as an attendant at Muscatatuck State Hospital. She had also worked as a Ripley County Deputy Auditor to her husband who was serving as Ripley County Auditor. She was also a member of the Holton Christian Church and the Mother's Class.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 6 at 10:30 a.m. at the Holton Christian Church with Bro. Robert McCreary officiating.
Burial was in the Holton Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Holton Christian Church in care of the funeral home.

Tom Bush
Tom Bush, 73, of West Harrison, passed away Friday, August 5, 2005 at his residence. He was born at Campton in Wolfe County, KY on August 5, 1932 the son of William and Dollie Alexander Bush. He was married to Faye Barrett and she preceded him in death on December 18, 1989. He then married Audrey Spence on August 6, 1990 and she survives.
Other survivors include one son, Travis Bush and wife Debbie of Petersburg, KY; one daughter, Jan Haag and husband Gordon of Harrison, OH; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one brother, Glenn Bush of Holton. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Ernestine Bush; and two brothers, Bill and Kenneth Bush.
Mr. Bush was a retired forklift operator for DuBois Chemical and was a 36 year member of the AFL-CIO.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 8, 1 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Bro. Bob Shetler officiating.
Burial was in the Holton Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.

Verna "Mickey" Heller
Verna "Mickey" Heller, 82, of Moores Hill, died Friday, August 5, 2005 at University Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. She was born June 30, 1923 in Aurora the daughter of Glendon and Augusta (Winhorst) Ashcraft, both deceased. She married Virgil M. Heller on May 24, 1947 and he preceded her in death on February 10, 2002.
Survivors include two sons, Jack Heller of Aurora, Mark Heller of Bright; two brothers, Robert Ashcraft of Milan, Howard Ashcraft of Albert Lea, MN; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Clayton Ashcraft.
Mrs. Heller was retired from Fernald and was also a member of the Eastern Star and the Moores Hill Methodist Church.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, August 9, 12-2 p.m. (fast time) at Sibbett-Moore Funeral Home in Moores Hill.
Funeral services will follow visitation at the funeral home at 2 p.m. with Rev. Carl Martin officiating.
Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Moores Hill. Memorials may go to the Moores Hill Methodist Church.

Victor Pickett
Victor Pickett, 85, of Correct, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2005 at King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison. He was born at Correct on April 10, 1920 the son of Edward and Esty Hyatt Pickett and had spent his entire life on his home place. He was married to Ruth Graves on June 23, 1945 and she survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Richard Pickett and wife Tammy of Olean, David Pickett and wife Ellen of Pendleton; one daughter, Susan Craig and husband Joe of Madison; and grandchildren Jeffery, William, Samuel and Joseph Pickett, Jennifer Smith, Patrick and Benjamin Craig. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Joel Pickett; and sisters Lucy Pickett and Evelyn Lewis.
Mr. Pickett was a retired farmer and was employed with Cummins from 1966 to 1986 where he worked as a machinist. He also had owned and operated a milk truck which he contracted milk hauling for Nestles in Osgood. He was a member of the New Marion Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, August 9, 5-8 p.m. at Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 10, 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Bro. Earl Thomas officiating.
Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles. Memorials may be given to the Parsonage Fund of the New Marion Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.

Alma B. Osborn
Alma B. Osborn, 91, of St. Peters, Indiana, died Friday, July 29, 2005 at the Good Shepard Hospital in Longview, Texas. She was born July 9, 1914 in New Trenton, Indiana, the daughter of Frank Henry Back and Catherine Wintz Back, both deceased. She married William Osborn and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, William N. and wife Virginia Osborn of Longview, Texas, James J. and wife Bette Osborn of The Woodlands, Texas and seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Rebecca Sundling, one sister, Esther Gillman, one brother, Duke Back and one grandson.
She was an active member of the St. Peters Church and a member of the Franklin County Historical Society as well as numerous other organizations.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 2 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the St. Peters Church. Funeral services will begin at 7 p.m. with Rev. Humbert Moster officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Brookville at the convenience of the family.

Clarence "Sam" Beach
Clarence "Sam" Beach, 84, of Burlington, Kentucky, formerly of Vevay, died Sunday, July 31, 2005 at Mountain Crest Nursing Home, Cincinnati. He was born September 18, 1920 in Carroll County, Kentucky, the son of James Beach and Eva Lena Webster Beach, both deceased.
Survivors include one sister, Betty Snow of Burlington; one brother, James Beach of Patriot and several nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Mr. Beach was a farmer and attended the Truth Apostolic Church in Vevay.
Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 3, at 11 a.m. at the Vevay Cemetery with Rev. Ronald Sandidge officiating. Burial will follow the services.

Darlene C. Tarvin
Darlene C. Tarvin, 77, of Aurora, died Thursday, July 28, 2005 at the Dearborn County Hospital, Lawrenceburg. She was born January 24, 1928 in Chicago, the daughter of Harry Neil Johnston and Adeline Marie Krause, both deceased.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna Loue (Tarvin) Porter of Aurora, Lou Ann (Tarvin) Daniels of Maple Grove, MN; two granddaughters, Amy Lynn and Dawn Porter and one great grandchild, Taylor Lynn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis E. Tarvin.
Mrs. Tarvin was a member of the Mt. Sinai United Methodist Church and was an organist for ten years. She retired as executive secretary from Mental Health Association of Greater Cincinnati. She graduated from Jones Commercial High School in Chicago.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 30 at 10:30 a.m. at the Filter Funeral Home, Aurora. Burial was in the Mt. Sinai Cemetery, Aurora.

Francis L. Logan
Francis L. Logan, 86, of Batesville, died Thursday, July 28, 2005 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital, Batesville. She was born April 8, 1919 in Washington Township, the daughter of John M. Callender and Irene Grace Callender, both deceased. She married Robert Logan on June 16, 1942 in Montgomery, Alabama and he survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Rebecca Best of LaGrange, KY, Jacqueline "Spanky" Replogle of Dover, Cindy Johnson of Osgood; one son, Jim Logan of Camby; one niece, Patty Dimmitt of Lavonia, MI, and 11 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Mrs. Logan was a retired registered nurse and was an Indiana University alumnist.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 1, 1 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home, Batesville with Rev. Charles Flory officiating. Burial was in the St. Louis Cemetery, Batesville.

Glenda R. McKittrick
Glenda R. McKittrick, 70, of Milan, died Friday, July 29, 2005 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital, Batesville. She was born May 15, 1935 at Batesville the daughter of Archie and Elizabeth (Moody) Carel. She married Gerald "Jake" McKittrick in April of 1957 and he preceded her in death in July of 1992.
Survivors include three sons, Jeff (Rhonda) McKittrick of Milan, Jason (Becky) McKittrick of Batesville, Joshua (Deborah) McKittrick of Osgood; five daughters, Cindy (Lonzo) Bowling of Osgood, Amanda (David) Brunner of Versailles, Penni McKittrick of Milan, Sherri (Andrew) McIntosh of Milan, Jennie (Sam) Craft of Batesville; one brother, Orville Memory of Ohio; two sisters, Roberta Brandes of Batesville, Kay Jarvis of Ohio; 18 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother, Jerry Carel.
Mrs. McKittrick had been an employee of the Milan Health Care and Ripley Crossing for 23 and a half years, and had worked several years at the Milan Furniture Factory.
Funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, August 2, 10 a.m., slow time, at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan with Rev. Harris Long officiating. Burial will be in the Washington Baptist Cemetery at Elrod.
Memorials may be made to the Ripley Crossing Activity Fund or the Nursing Scholarship or Milan Rescue 30.

Judith Bushorn
Judith Bushorn, 69, of Milan, died Saturday, July 30, 2005 at Shady Nook Health Center. She was born April 11, 1936 in Aurora, the daughter of Robert Hurd and Catherine Dausch Hurd. She married Clifford Bushorn and he survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Mike and wife Georgia Bushorn of Milan, Andy and wife Melanie Bushorn of Aurora; two sisters, Linda Colombaro of New Jersey, Molly Keeny of New Jersey and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a great granddaughter.
Mrs. Bushorn was a 25-year employee of the Dearborn County Hospital, a part time employee of Seagram's for ten years. She was a member of the Lankenau Hospital Alumni Association and the First Baptist Church of Milan.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 2 from 5-8 p.m. at the Fitch-Denney Funeral Home, Lawrenceburg. Services will be held Wednesday, August 3, 9 a.m. with Rev. Harris Long officiating. Burial will follow in the Greendale Cemetery.

Mildred Andress
Mildred Andress, 90, of Versailles, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2005, at Ripley Crossing in Milan. She was born in the St. Magdalene community near New Marion on August 1, 1914, the daughter of Matthew and Stella Daffin Stark. She was married to Cecil Andress on October 10, 1931 and he preceded her in death on May 14, 1994.
Survivors include one son Larry G. Andress and his wife Rita of Madison; one daughter, LaVerne Day and husband Dale of Versailles; seven grandchildren, Brandon Andress and wife Jenny of Columbus, Kasey Felts and husband Dan of Madison, Whitney Ulm and Josh of Middleport, Ohio, Debra Stephen and JR., Dawna Mathews and Keith, Dana Vest and James, and Danita Rogers and Bryant, all of Versailles; 17 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Judy Kay Andress.
Mrs. Andress was a homemaker and she and her husband had spent most of their married life on a farm near New Marion. She was a faithful member of the Versailles Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 3 at 10:30 a.m. at the Versailles Church of Christ with Dale Day officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 2, from 5-8 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home, Versailles.
Memorials may be made to the Versailles Church of Christ in care of the funeral home.

Sandy Lee Hunger
Sandy Lee Hunger, 44, passed away Friday, July 29, 2005. She was born in Mishawaka on October 6, 1960, the daughter of Wally and Alice Vernasco and they survive. She married Steve Hunger on June 29, 1991 and he survives.
Other survivors include one sister, Cindy Vernasco of Silver Springs, Maryland.
Mrs. Hunger was a 1979 graduate of Mishawaka High School and a graduate of Purdue University earning her Bachelor of Arts in nursing and her Bachelor of Science in community health. She was a home health nurse, lifeguard and a massage therapist.
Funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, August 2 at 11 a.m. at College Park Church.

William J. Switzer
William J. Switzer, 73, of Madison, formerly of Sunman, died Thursday, July 28, 2005, at King's Daughters' Hospital, Madison. He was born February 14, 1932 in Rockville, the son of Joseph and Marie Hay Switzer. He married Suzanne Clyne and she preceded him in death on December 1, 1995.
Survivors include daughters, Sandra and husband Dave Egts of Ft. Wayne, Judy and husband Don White of Madison, Karen and Bill Johnson of Leawood, Kansas, Becky and Bob McAuley of Sammamish, Washington; eight grandchildren and brothers, Bob Switzer of Clearwater, Florida and Dick Switzer of Indianapolis.
Mr. Switzer was a retired music teacher at Sunman Elementary School and former band director at Sunman High School. He was a member and former choir director of St. Nicholas Church, Whitewater Valley Railroad, the Madison Historical Society and played with the Eureka Band.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 1, 10 a.m. at the St. Nicholas Church with Rev. Gregory Bramlage officiating. Burial was in the St. Nicholas Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Nicholas School or the music department at Sunman Elementary School.

William S. Corning
William S. Corning, 84, of Versailles, passed away Monday, August 1, 2005 at the King's Daughters' Hospital, Madison. He was born at Elmira, New York on May 31, 1921, the son of Roland and Martha Ann McKinney Corning. He was married to Barbara Travis on August 11, 1945 and she survives.
Other survivors include two brothers, R. Daniel Newhouse of New Orleans and E. Alan Newhouse of Urbana, Illinois. His parents and his son, Roland Corning, preceded him in death.
Mr. Corning was a 1939 graduate of Lawrenceburg High School and was a 60-year member of the Lawrenceburg Masonic Lodge. He attended Purdue University and was a member of the Purdue Alumni Association and the President's Council of Purdue. Mr. Corning served in the Army Air Force during WWII as a supply sergeant with the engineering corps. He was a retired sales supervisor for Stegner Foods and had also worked as a sales representative for General Foods. He was a member of the Hamline United Methodist Church in Lawrenceburg, the Versailles Lions Club, and the Versailles American Legion. He was currently serving on the SWCD board of directors, the board of Hoosier Historic Hills, and was a former board member of Oxbow, Inc. in Cincinnati. He was also a charter member of the Muscatatuck Wildlife Refuge.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles.
The Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home of Versailles is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be given to the Roland S. Corning Memorial Fund for the Purdue University School of Civil Engineering in care of the funeral home.
