Betty Jean Struckman
Betty Jean Struckman, 58, of Osgood, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at the
Margaret Mary Community Hospital, Batesville. She was born in Milan on September
27, 1946, the daughter of George and Edna Beach Rose. She was married to Clifford
Struckman on October 2, 1978 and he survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Carrie Dunaway of Osgood and Kim Foutch
and husband Jason of Dillsboro and five grandchildren.
Mrs. Struckman was a 1964 graduate of Jac-Cen-Del High School and was a former
employee of the US Shoe Company and Delta Faucet.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 31 at 11 a.m. at the Greendale
Cemetery in Osgood with Brother Dale Day officiating.

Dallas Reynolds
Dallas Reynolds, 66, of Morris, died Monday, March 28, 2005 at his residence.
He was born December 27, 1938 in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky, the son of Herman and
Flonnie (Evans) Reynolds. He married Violet Powell in Florence, Kentucky on
July 24, 1984 and she survives.
Other survivors include one son, Todd Reynolds of Indianapolis; three daughters,
Robin Sizemore and Beth Ann Clark of Batesville, Danielle Reynolds of Morris;
one stepdaughter, Michele Lattire of Sunman and four grandchildren. Two sisters
preceded him in death.
Mr. Reynolds was a retired fireman from the Rushville Fire Department. He was
also the lead guitar player for the Powell Family Singers and the lead banjo
players for the Homeward Bound Bluegrass Band.
Visitation will be Friday, April 1, 5-8 p.m. at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 2, 10 a.m. at the funeral home
with Rev. Kenneth Bates officiating. Burial will follow at the Batesville United
Methodist Church Cemetery.

Donald L. Herth
Donald L. Herth, 74, of Milan, died Monday, March 28, 2005 at Margaret Mary Community
Hospital, Batesville. He was born March 10, 1931 in Cincinnati, the son of
Theodore and Isabella (Kammer) Herth. He married Margaret Lawhorn Hood Herth
on September 20, 1974 and she survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Patrick, Ted, and Paul Herth all of Cincinnati;
three daughters, Trudy Lilly of Milan, Rebecca Cornes of Batavia, Ohio, Jennifer
Burress of Milan; two stepsons, Donald Hood of Independence, Kentucky, Randy
Hood of Milan; two brothers, Robert Herth of Cincinnati, Vincent Herth of Cincinnati;
one sister, Frances Gerhardt of Cincinnati; 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Elizabeth Ashcraft and one brother,
Bernard Herth.
Mr. Herth was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving as a marine, was a member
of the International Association of Fire Fighters and served on the Cincinnati
from 1955 to 1973. He was also a member of the Catholic faith.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 31 at Sibbett-Moore Funeral Home, Moores
Hill. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 1, 10 a.m. at the funeral home
with Rev. Harris Long officiating. Burial will be in the New Craven Cemetery,
Milan with military graveside services conducted by the Milan Legion Post #235.

Gertrude Strunck
Gertrude Strunck, 95, of Osgood, died Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at Manderley Health
Care Center, Osgood. She was born December 10, 1909 at Osgood, the daughter
of John and Anna Vetter Beyer. She married George Henry Strunck and he preceded
her in death on June 9, 1965.
Survivors include one son, Robert J. Strunck of Murphy's, California; one daughter,
Mary Ann Westmeier of Versailles; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren
and one sister, Agnes Pulis of California. She was preceded in death by one brother,
Frank Beyer and two sister, Betty Reed and Lena Beyer.
Mrs. Strunck was a member of the St. John's Catholic Church, Osgood, was a past
employee of Dean's Locker Plant, Osgood and had also been a cook for the Osgood
Elementary School for many years.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 31, 5-7 p.m. at the St. John's Catholic
Church, Osgood. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 1, 10 a.m. at the
church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Rescue 69.

Keith Minger
Keith Minger, 85, of Milan, died Wednesday, March 30,2005 at King's Daughters'
Hospital, Madison. He was born April 11, 1919 in Versailles, the son of Clarence
C. and Bertha Jane (Wetzler) Minger. He married Eva Mae (Craig) on April 14,
1940 and she survives.
Other survivors include four sons, Maurice K. Minger and wife Catherine of Milan,
Jerry L. Minger and wife Tammy of Bloomington, Roger L. Minger of Milan, Larry
D. Minger of Milan; one daughter, Frances Kay Minger Koontz and husband Mike;
two sisters, Ruth Havey of Lawrenceburg, Norma Lee Bradford of Burlington, Kentucky;
eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by
three brothers, John, Earl and Robert Minger and one sister, Wilma Terry.
Mr. Minger was a retired member of the fire brigade at the Jefferson Proving
Ground. He was also a member of the Milan United Methodist Church and the Disabled
American Veterans.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 1, 6-8 p.m. at the Sibbett-Moore Funeral
Home, Moores Hill. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 2, 11 a.m at
the funeral home with Rev. Stormey Sherer-Berry officiating. Burial will follow
in the East View Cemetery at Patriot with military rites conducted by the Milan
Legion Post #235.

May E. Pate
May E. Pate, 95, of Dillsboro, died Monday, March 21, 2005 at the Waters of Dillsboro
Manor. She was born May 17, 1909 in Pike Township the daughter of George P.
Pate and Maria T. Otto, both deceased.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Quentin Pate and four sisters, Prudence
Pate, Ruth Burris, Bertha Pate, and Edna O. Luhring.
Miss Pate was a graduate of Rising Sun High School and Indiana Teachers College
in Terre Haute. She taught elementary school for 36 years at Dillsboro. She was
also a member of the Bear Creek Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, March 24, 2:00 p.m. at the Bear
Creek Baptist Church, Dillsboro. Burial will be in the Friendship-Akers Cemetery,
Versailles.

Raymond
George Fellerman
Raymond George Fellerman, 84, of Melbourne, Florida, formerly of Versailles,
died Monday, March 21, 2005 at William Childs Hospice House, Palm Bay, Florida.
He was born February 21, 1921 at Cincinnati the son of George H. and Viola Windhorst
Fellerman. He married Garnetta Cecil on May 20, 1941 and she preceded him in
death on November 26, 1998.
Survivors include three sons, Michael Fellerman of Cheviot, Ohio, Raymond Fellerman
of Bera, California, Carl Fellerman of Melbourne, Florida; three daughters, Sandra
Fellerman of Hacinda, California, Donna Tracey of West Cobia, California, Mary
Carol Brackett of Melbourne, Florida; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was a member of the Milan VFW. He was employee of Gulf Oil of Hooven, Ohio
for 34 years and was also an Airforce veteran of WWII.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 25, 9 a.m. until the time of funeral services
at 10 a.m. at Neal's Funeral Home, Osgood. Burial will be in the St. John's Cemetery,
Osgood, with military services by the William A. Gilland American Legion. Memorials
may be made tot he Hospice of Ripley County.

Taylor Spurlock
Taylor Spurlock, 76, of North Port, Florida, passed away March 15, 2005 at Englewood
Community Hospital. He was born in Clay County, Kentucky in 1929, the son of
Ethel and Wiley Spurlock.
He served in the US Army during the Korean War, and later retired from the Panama
Canal Zone, and relocated to North Port, Florida.
In 1963 he married Maj-Britt Holcroft, formerly of Stockholm, Sweden and she
survives.
Other survivors include: one son, Paul Taylor Spurlock (Katrina) of Knoxville,
Tennessee; stepdaughters, Sheila Holcroft (David Dear) of North Port, Jane Crouch
(Walter) of Safety Harbor, Florida; and stepsons Eugene Marsee (Barbara) of Versailles;
19 grandchildren including Connie Huffman of Osgood, Tim (Sara) Marsee of Vincennes,
Mark (Tonya) Marsee of Milan and Charles (Florence) Marsee of Rexville; 25 great
grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
Also surviving are siblings Alpha Fabbri of Chicago, Illinois, Bernice Dunbar
of Osgood, Ruby Mathis (Hugh) of Cincinnati and Phillip Spurlock of Marion.
He was preceded in death by one stepson, George Holcroft; one sister, Hazel and
one brother, Frederick.
A celebration of life will be held at Neal's Funeral Home, Osgood, April 2, from
10 a.m. until noon. A memorial service will immediately follow. Memorials may
be made to the American Cancer Society.

Alice Anne
Flory Young
Alice Anne Flory Young, 57, of Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, March 7,
2005. She was born on April 6, 1947 in Milan to Alan Reid and Mary Alice Flory,
both deceased.
Mrs. Young was a 1965 graduate of Milan High School. She retired from Southwestern
Bell in San Antonio, Texas with over 30 years of service. She was also the manager
of Plump's Last Shot Restaurant in Board Ripple, Indianapolis.
Survivors include one son, Scott, currently stationed with the U.S. Air Force
in Korea and daughter-in-law, Brenda; one brother, Alan Flory and wife Dixie;
and two step grandsons, Jason and Adam of San Antonio.
A memorial service, presided over by Father Marty Peter, was held on March 12.
Jeanette L. Kluemper
Jeanette L. Kluemper, 74, of Osgood, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at the
Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. She was born near Osgood on October 20, 1930
the daughter of Albert and Clara Marie Kelly Hardebeck. She was married to
Edward Kluemper on June 25, 1949 and he survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Carlotta Gunter and husband Jerald of
Batesville, Janet Orr and Harley of Osgood, Patricia Ann Ferguson and Brady of
Indianapolis; 22 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; two brothers, Leo
Hardebeck of Napoleon and Roy Hardebeck of Osgood; two sisters, Ruth Cole of
Holton and Diana Shelton of New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her parents,
daughter, Melinda Cook and sisters, Vivian Sutton and Colleen Elston.
Mrs. Kluemper was a homemaker and a member of the St. Maurice Catholic Church
in Napoleon.
Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, March 19 at 1 p.m. at the St.
Maurice Catholic Church in Napoleon with Father Todd Goodson officiating. Calling
will be at the convenience of the family and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Vestile Lyon
Mary Margaret Vestile Lyon, 79, of Madison, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2005
at The Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison. She was born December 3, 1925 in Jefferson
County the daughter of Franklin Benjamin Vestile and Maude Mathews Vestile, both
deceased. She married Gale L. Lyon on August 1, 1948 and he preceded her in death
on November 29, 1999.
Survivors include two sons, David Lyon and wife Jenny of Livonia, MI, Bruce Lyon
of Madison; and two grandsons, Matthew Lyon and Randall Lyon. She was preceded
in death by one son, Franklin Lyon.
Mrs. Lyon was a 1944 graduate of Central High School and also attended Hanover
College where she was a member of Phi Mu. She received her bachelor's degree
and teaching certificate in 1948. She then earned her master's degree from Indiana
University in 1974. She was an elementary school teacher at Manville School,
Canaan, Central, E.O. Muncie and Lydia Middleton before retiring in 1975. She
was also a member of the Indian-Kentuck Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held today, Thursday, March 17, 10-11 a.m. at Indian-Kentuck
Baptist Church in Canaan.
Funeral services will follow visitation at the church at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ed
Roberts officiating.
Burial will be in the Canaan Cemetery. Memorials may go to the Indian-Kentuck

Sue (Selvy) Bailey, 57, of Florence, died Monday, March 14, 2005 at Arvin Sango,
Madison. She was born march 23, 1947 in Pineville, Kentucky the daughter of
Dan Selvy and Mary Gray Selvy both deceased.
Survivors include companion, Jerry J. Vogel of Florence; one daughter, Mary Henry
and husband Jimmy of Ghent, Kentucky; one son, Dan Michael Bailey and wife Pat
of Dayton, Kentucky; one stepson, Roger L. Vogel and wife Dianne of Carrollton;
one sister, Patty Gray of Bemble, Kentucky; two brothers, Jimmy Selvy of Corbin,
Kentucky and David Selvy of London, Kentucky; and six grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Danny Selvy.
Ms Bailey was employed at Arvin Sango in Madison where she operated a stamping
machine.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 18, 5-7 p.m. and from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.
on Saturday, March 19 at the Haskell and Morrison Funeral Home, Vevay. Funeral
services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Ronald
Sandidge officiating.

Mildred Mae Pastner Platt, 93, of Manchester, died Monday, March 7, 2005 at the
Dearborn County Hospital, Lawrenceburg. She was born January 27, 1912 near
Manchester the daughter of Martin and Anna Brumbley Pastner. She married Elmer
F. Platt and he survives.
Other survivors include one daughter and son-in-law Shirley and Glenn Huber of
Sunman; one son, David E. Platt of Manchester; five grandchildren and four great-grandsons.
Her parents, one sister and two brothers preceded her in death.
Mrs. Platt was a homemaker, a lifetime member of the Hogan Hill Baptist Church,
a former trustee for the Hogan Hill Cemetery, and a member of the Order of the
Eastern Star-Moores Hill Chapter.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 10, 11-1 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, Sunman.

Carl M. "Dick" Litmer, 74, of Enochsburg, died Tuesday, March 1,
2005 at Hospitality Hall in Batesville. He was born January 8, 1931 in Franklin
County
the son of Charles Litmer and Christina (Huser) Litmer, both deceased. He married
Juanita (Hildebrand) Litmer on October 12, 1957 at St. John's Catholic Church
in Enochsburg and she survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Kim Vance of Loveland, OH, Melissa Litmer
of Indianapolis, Angela Meyer of Enochsburg; two sons, Michael Litmer of Indianapolis,
Curt Litmer of Phoenix, AZ; one sister, Marcella "Dolly" Schwegman
of New Point; one brother, Alfred "Tom" Litmer of Enochsburg; and seven
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Lester and Evelyn
Ploeger and two brothers, Alvin Litmer and Clifford Litmer.
Mr. Litmer was an electrician for the IBEW Local #481 in Indianapolis, retiring
in 1992. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of St. John's
Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council #1461, Eagles Aerie #1130 and
the Prell-Bland American Legion Post #271.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 4, 4-8 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home in Batesville
with a rosary service at 5 p.m.

Evelyn Hughes
Evelyn Hughes, 94, of Correct passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at Ripley Crossing
in Milan. She was born at Rexville on February 23, 1911 the daughter of Taylor
and Daisy Noyes Brinson. She was married to J. Marion Hughes on November 14,
1930 and he preceded her in death on March 8, 2002.
Survivors include two sons, William Hughes and wife Wilma of Correct and Wayne
Hughes and wife Rosemarie of Monument, Colorado; two grandchildren, William J.
Hughes and wife Dale of Noblesville, Dianna Swinney and husband Fred of New Marion;
four great-grandchildren, Ryan Hughes, Jon Hughes, J.D. Swinney, and Adam Swinney;
and a cousin, Alta Hall and husband Art of Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Hughes was a 1929 graduate of New Marion High School and was a 53-year member
of the Versailles Baptist Church. She was also a homemaker and was employed as
an attendant at Muscatatuck for 14 years retiring in 1976.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 5, 11 a.m. at the Versailles Baptist
Church with Rev. Mark Walker officiating. Visitation will be Friday, March 4
from 5-8 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home, Versailles. Burial will
be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery, Versailles.

(Reynolds) Whalbring
Fannie R. (Reynolds) Whalbring, 99, of Evansville, died Wednesday, February 23,
2005 at Americare Nursing Facility. She was born February 23, 1906 the daughter
of Mary and Joseph Reynolds in Tampico. She married Jacob Whalbring and he preceded
her in death.
Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Dr. Lila and Bill Buchanan
of Winter Springs, FL, Jody and Bill Schlimmer of Evansville; three grandchildren,
Greg and Kevin Buchanan of Winter Springs, FL, Sarah Berry of Newburgh; and five
great-grandchildren, Shelby and Michael Buchanan, Joseph and Brandon Berry and
Jessica Schlimmer. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters,
Nell Mae and Martha.
Mrs. Whalbring was a career educator. She graduated from Central Normal Teachers'
College and did graduate work at Butler University. She retired from teaching
at Jac-Cen-Del High School in Osgood. She was also a member of the First Christian
Church in Evansville.
Burial was held Monday, February 28 in Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles. Memorials

Robert J. "Bud" Kerker, 90, of Oldenburg, died Monday,
February 28, 2005 at his residence. He was born September 29,
1914 in Batesville the son of
Clarence Kerker Sr. and Maire Ollier Kerker, both deceased. He married Mary Jane
Holtel Kerker on June 29, 1946 at Holy Family Church and she preceded him in
death on October 9, 1972.
Survivors include one daughter, Kathy Bohman of Batesville; three sons, William
Kerker of Oldenburg, Steven Kerker of Oldenburg, Daniel Kerker of Oldenburg;
four sisters, Rosemary Holtel of Batesville, Barbara Heidlage of Batesville,
Rita Goldsmith of Batesville, Betty Waters of Cheviot, OH; two brothers, Jerome
Kerker of Batesville, Clarence Kerker, Jr. of Batesville; thirteen grandchildren;
and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Kerker was a welder for Hill-Rom retiring in 1979. He was an Army veteran
of WWII receiving four Bronze Stars and was a member of the Holy Family Church
in Oldenburg, Ripley County VFW Post #3183, Prell-Bland American Legion Post
#271, was a former member of the Eagle Fire Co. and was a past member and president
of the Oldenburg Town Council.
Visitation will be held today, Thursday, March 3, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the
Holy Family Church in Oldenburg.
Funeral services will follow visitation at the church at 1 p.m. with Rev. John
Turnbull, O.F.M. officiating.

Ronald W. Shook, 70, of Batesville, died Monday, February 28, 2005 at Hospitality
Hall in Batesville. He was born June 14, 1934 in Batesville the son of Leeland
Shook and Cordelia (Moody) Shook, both deceased.
Survivors include one daughter, Teri Hughes of Beaumont, TX; four sons, Joe Shook
of Batesville, Barry Shook of Batesville, Kevin Shook of Acton, CA, Scott Shook
of Batesville; one sister, Maxine Gudgeon of Batesville; ten grandchildren; and
five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Shook was a senior computer analyst and operator for the Batesville Casket
Company for 40+ years before retiring. He was a member of the Indiana National
Guard, Batesville United Methodist Church, Prell-Bland American Legion Post #271,
Batesville Masonic Lodge #668 of Free and Accepted Masons, Eastern Star Chapter
#348, Eagles Club Aerie #1130 and was a captain for the Indiana Civil Air Patrol.
He was also an Eagle Scout and an Army veteran of WWII.
Visitation will be held today, Thursday, March 3, 4-8 p.m. at Weigel Funeral
Home in Batesville with a prayer service conducted by the Batesville Masonic
Lodge #668 at 6 p.m.
