Donald Wayne Konkle
Donald Wayne "Donnie" Konkle, 62, of near Moorefield, died Sunday, December 26,2004 at his residence. He was born April 19, 1942 in Switzerland County the son of Ross Konkle and Alta (Beach) Konkle, both deceased. He married Dianna (Gullion) Konkle on July 15, 1967 and she survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Donald Wayne "Donnie" Konkle, Jr. and wife Towana of Vevay, Jonathan Konkle of North Vernon, Justin Matthew Konkle and significant other Crystal Leap of Vevay; one grandson, Justin Tyler Konkle of Vevay; two brothers, Damon Konkle of Somerset, KY, and Raymond Konkle of Moorefield. He was preceded in death by two half sisters, Margaret Louise Siegmago and Juanita McEntire and infant daughter, Mary Jane Konkle in 1968.
Mr. Konkle was a special deputy with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department under Jug Raisor from 1966-1970. He worked for Pearl Packing Company in Madison from 1969-1974 and with the Switzerland County Highway Department from 1986-1990.
Funeral services will take place today, Thursday, December 30 at 2 p.m. at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, Vevay with Rev. Howard Wade officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Cemetery, Vevay.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.

Little McKinley Carver Pennington
Little McKinley Carver Pennington, 8 hours, of Florence, died Monday, December 20, 2004 at University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington, Kentucky. He was born December 20, 2004 in Lexington, Kentucky the son of Chad Carver Pennington and Amy Marie Hoskins and they survive.
Other survivors include maternal grandparents, Angela Hoskins of Florence, Bill Hoskins of Center Square; paternal grandparents, Ken and Rhonda Pennington of Pickerington, Ohio, Barb and Rick Wheeler of Hanover; maternal great grandparents, Don and Polly Hunger of Versailles, Kathryn Hoskins of Vevay; paternal great grandparents, Lindburg and Shirley Couch of Deputy, Cora Shepherd of Hanover; maternal great-great grandparents, Nell Pollard of Versailles; Willard Hunger of Versailles; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by great grandfather, Little Shepherd and maternal great grandfather, Elisha Hoskins.
Private funeral services were held Monday, December 27 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Olean with Rev. Marcus Felde officiating. Burial was in the St. Paul Cemetery, Olean.
Memorials may be given to the St. Paul Cemetery Fund.

Betty J. Neahousmeyer
Betty J. Neahousmeyer, 74, of Osgood, died Monday, December 20, 2004 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital, Batesville. She was born October 17, 1930 to daughter of Wm. And Rose Thomas Rub, both deceased. She married Estol Neahousmeyer and he preceded her in death March 24, 1981.
Survivors include two sons, William Lewis of Milan, Edward Neahousmeyer of Versailles; four daughters, Barbara Neahousmeyer of Osgood, Patricia Neahousmeyer of Cincinnati, Rosemary Martin of Virginia, Grace Ann Hinkins; and 11 grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held today, Thursday, December 23, 1 p.m. at the Perseverance Cemetery, Osgood.

Ferryl Smith
Ferryl Smith, 91, of Warsaw, Kentucky formerly of Milan passed away Tuesday, December 21,2004 at the Gallatin Health Care Center in Warsaw. She was born near Osgood on August 5, 1913 the daughter of Wilbur and Louise Nosekabel Radican, both deceased. She was married to Kenneth Smith and he preceded her in death on June 28, 1987.
Survivors include stepdaughter, Barbara Jean Smith of Warsaw; one niece, Kathy Williamson and family of Warsaw; one nephew, Victor Radican and family of Sacramento, California; and several great nieces and nephews. One brother, Horace Radican preceded her in death.
Mrs. Smith was a 1931 graduate of Versailles High School and formerly worked at Ma Curry's Restaurant in Versailles. She was also a homemaker and a member of the Tyson United Methodist Church in Versailles.
Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, December 23, 2 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home, Versailles with Rev. Michael Hendrix officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until the time of services. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery, Versailles.
Memorials may be given to the Tyson United Methodist Church.

Thomas Wagner

Gerald Thomas Wagner, 56, of Laurel, died Monday, December 20, 2004 at his residence. He was born February 3, 1948 in Greensburg the son of Dave and Caroline (Graham) Wagner. He married Elizabeth Joanne Carr in Jellico, Tennessee and she survives.
Other survivors include one son, Dave Wagner of Indianapolis and two grandchildren. One son, Tom Wagner preceded him in death.
Mr. Wagner was retired from Hill-Rom.
Visitation will be held today, Thursday, December 23 from 11-1 p.m. at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville. Funeral services will follow visitation at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. David Johnston officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mark Cemetery in Batesville.

Keshia D. Boyce
Keshia D. Boyce, 16, Greensburg, died Wednesday, December 15, 2004 at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis from injuries resulting from a car accident. Born, March 8, 1988 in Greensburg, the daughter of John Tony Boyce, Greensburg and Tammy L. (White) Boyce, Greensburg.
She was a Junior at North Decatur High School. She was a cheerleader, a member of the Sunshine Society and a member of the yearbook committee. She worked at McDonalds in Greensburg.
She is survived by her parents, grandparents, Frank &Janet Schreiner, Greensburg, Andy and Shaneva Boyce, Greensburg, David &Judy White, Greensburg; Great grandparents, Rosemary White, Greensburg, Jess &Ina Begely, Kokomo; one brother, Clay A. Boyce, Greensburg. Funeral Services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 18, 2004 at the North Decatur High School Gymnasium with Rev. Jon Porter officiating. Internment was in the Rossburg Cemetery.

Paul Butch Storms
Paul Butch Storms, 53, of Aurora, died Monday, December 20, 2004 at his residence. He was born April 7, 1951 in Dearborn County the son of Paul Jacob and Bessie (Carter) Storms.
Survivors include one brother, Charles A. Storms of Batesville and one sister, Pauline Duncan of Aurora.
Mr. Storms was a painter and a former employee of Anchor Glass.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Charles "Abe" Abrams
Charles "Abe" Abrams, 67, of Napoleon, died Monday, December 13, 2004 at his residence. He was born August 3, 1937 at Rushville the son of Ulysses Grant and Myrtle Hurley Abrams. He married Charlene Dunaway Abrams on August 3, 1958 and she survives in Napoleon.
Other survivors include his father, Ulysses Grant Abrams of Milroy; two sons, Charles L. Abrams of Butlerville, Philip C. Abrams of Napoleon; two brothers, Gene Abrams and Bobby Hittle; and two grandchildren. One sister, Tommy Brown and one brother, Jake Abrams preceded him in death.
Mr. Abrams was a US Navy Veteran from 1955-1973, owned and operated Abe's Heating & Air-conditioning of Osgood from 1975-1979. He worked at Odd Fellows Home in Greensburg from 1979-2000, had been involved with the Navy Fleet Reserve Association National of Erlanger, Kentucky, and been involved in the American Goldwing Association of the IN Chapter.
A visitation only service was held Wednesday, December 15 at Neal's Funeral Home, Osgood. Military services were held at 7 p.m. by the Wm. A. Gilland American Legion Post of Osgood and the Keene Henneke VFW of Napoleon.

Ethel A. Holliday
Ethel A. Holliday, 93, of Milan, died Monday, December 13, 2004 at Ripley Crossing Care Center, Milan. She was born March 23, 1911 in Fifty Six, Arkansas the daughter of Issac Zachary and Tennessee (Qualls) Southard, both deceased. She married Theodore Roosevelt Holliday and he preceded her in death on January 28, 1968.
Survivors include one daughter, Lorine and Tom Day of Versailles; three sons, Lee Roy and Mildred Holliday of Beverly Hill, FL, Troy B. and Lorena Holliday of Inverness, FL, Raymond and Judy Holliday of Palm Bay, FL; ten grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Pauline Watts; five brothers; three sisters; and one grandson.
Mrs. Holliday was a homemaker and attended the Milan Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 16, 2:00 p.m. at Sibbett-Moore Funeral Home, Moores Hill with Rev. Harris Long officiating. Burial will be in the Craven Cemetery, Milan. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association.

Gary James Schneider
Gary James Schneider, 61, of Reading, Ohio, died Monday, December 13, 2004 at his residence. He was born June 28, 1943 in Aurora the son of Charles Robert Schneider and Ruth Goodpaster Schneider. He married Inez Batts Schneider and she survives.
Other survivors include one son, Ronald J. Schneider of Versailles; two daughters, Lorri Doherty of Brookville, Barbara Brown of Lecanto, FL; two brothers, Rick Short of Rising Sun, Raymond Borell of Phoenix, AZ; two sisters, Ruth A. Torwelle of Indianapolis, Sandra Hulquest of Fairfield, OH; and two grandchildren. His parents preceded him in death.
Mr. Schneider was a welder. He served in the Army from June 30, 1964 to May 31, 1967.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 17 from 11-1p.m., Filter Funeral Home, Aurora. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 17, 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Aurora.

Matthew M. Gutzwiller
Matthew M. Gutzwiller, 31, of Batesville, died Tuesday, December 14, 2004 at his residence. He was born November 5, 1973 in Batesville the son of Michael J. Gutzwiller and Jean Ann (Krekeler) Gutzwiller, and they survive.
Other survivors include one brother, Brent Gutzwiller of Indianapolis; maternal grandmother, Mary Krekeler of Batesville; and paternal grandmother, Audrey Gutzwiller of Batesville; and numerous aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Stanley J. Krekeler and paternal grandfather, Alfred W. Gutzwiller.
Mr. Gutzwiller was a Quality Assurance Manager at American West in Phoenix, Arizona and was a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church, Batesville.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 17, 10-12:30 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home, Batesville. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 17 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Christiaan Kappes officiating. Burial will be at a later date at the St. Louis Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the J. Michael Hansen Oncology Unit.

Pauline Cavanaugh
Pauline Cavanaugh, 82, of Dillsboro, died Sunday, December 12, 2004 in Dillsboro. She was born Monday, August 14, 1922 in Evansville the daughter of the late Olden Richardson and the late Maude Williams Richardson.
Survivors include two daughters, Deborah (Mark) Tanner of Glendale, Vicki Lou Jewett of Greendale; one brother, James Thomas Richardson of Kenbridge, VA; three sisters, Aggi Villalobos of Victoria, VA, Mildred Speece of Kileen, TX, Delores Pace of Hernando, FL; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Dee Ann Russell and Paula Cavanaugh.
Mrs. Cavanaugh worked as a dietician/cook for the Dearborn County Hospital. She assisted her husband with his ministry and they ran a Methodist campground in Santa Clause Land. After retirement they served as supply pastor at various churches with Dillsboro being the last. During the war she worked with the War Effort.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 15, 11 a.m. at the Dillsboro First Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Stratton officiating.
Burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery in Dillsboro. Contributions may be made to the Dillsboro First Baptist Church.

Roger Shook
Roger Shook, 77, of Fort Wayne, died Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at his residence. He was born May 13, 1927 in Indianapolis the son of Selwyn and Eva Hughes Shook, both deceased.
Survivors include two sons, Kraig Shook of Jupiter, FL, Roger T. Shook of Ohio; one daughter, Cheryl Shook of Syracuse; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son.
Mr. Shook was a WWII Navy veteran. He was an instructor at the War College during part of his military career. He also attended New York State Maritime State College and Hofstra College in Long Island, NY. He was involved in the Pepsi Cola Bottling Industry for 50 years, served as president of RKO during part of his career, was a member of the Mizpah Shriners #8247 of Fort Wayne and was also a member of the Fort Wayne, Waynedale American Legion Post #241. He also belonged to the AA Association of Fort Wayne for 17 years.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 10, 12-1 p.m. at Neal's Funeral Home in Osgood.
Funeral services will follow visitation at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles. Memorials may go to the Leonard's Lane of Fort Wayne in c/o the funeral home.

Marjorie Alice Bates
Marjorie Alice Bates, 87, of Batesville, formerly of Sunman, died Monday, December 6, 2004 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital, Batesville. She was born December 1, 1917 in Franklin County, near Mt. Carmel the daughter of Charles and Mabel (Evans) Wooley. She married Raymond Leonard Bates in Milton on July 21, 1938 and he preceded her in death in July 1958.
Survivors include one daughter, Wanda Bates of Indianapolis; two sons, Raymond Bates, Jr. of Stewart, FL., and Donald L. Bates of Sunman; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Thelma Landon of Greenfield. Three brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
Mrs. Bates was a member of the New Testament Baptist Church in Penntown and was a nurses aid at Fayette County Hospital in Connersville.
Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, December 9 at 11:00 a.m. at the New Testament Baptist Church, Penntown with Brother Thomas Fehrman officiating. Burial will be in the Venice Cemetery near Ross, Ohio. Memorials may be given to the New Testament Baptist Church.

Curtis Dale Cox
Curtis Dale Cox, 72, of Anacortes, WA, died Sunday, December 5, 2004 at his residence. He was born July 6, 1932 in Holton the son of Willard Cox and Lucy Cumberworth Cox, both deceased. He married Joan Cox and she survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Bonnie Wall and husband David of Milan; two brothers, Delfert Cox and Rita Jo Sizemore, Delmar and Pearl Cox, all of Holton; nieces, Sue and Kenny Keyes, Peggy and Jack Ryan; nephews, Ronnie Cox, Doug and Myrna Cox, Roger Harrell, Marvin and Patty Harrell; grandchildren, Paige, Nikki, and Lucas Wall; numerous great nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Also surviving are aunt, Alma Pencek; sister-in-law, Georgianna and Paul Belus; stepdaughters, Irene Tribou, Cathi Larsen; niece Katina Roy; granddaughters, Bobbi Fancher and Matt Adkinson, Sammi and Chris Neuendorf; and great-grandson, Riley Neuendorf.
He was preceded in death by one son, Tommy; one daughter, Connie; sister, Gnelle Harrell; nephew, Danny Harrell; and sister-in-law, Helen Cox.
Mr. Cox was a member of the Laborers Union since 1965.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, December 15 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holton Cemetery.

Elizabeth Ward Block
Elizabeth Ward Block, 77, of Fort Wayne, died Friday, November 19, 2004 at her residence. Born February 17, 1927 in Bucyrus, OH, she was a child care giver at Lutheran Hospital Child Care Center for 10 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her husband, Richard Block; daughters, Teresa Fogwell of Winfield, IL, Lisa Hoffman, Susan Conley and Beth Dafforn, all of Fort Wayne; 10 grandchildren; sister, Catherine Werner of Versailles; and brothers, Donald Ward of Indianapolis, John Ward of Dillsboro and Bernard Ward of Osgood. She was preceded in death by Charlene Ward and Louise and Charles Ward.
Funeral services were held at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. John Stephen Park officiating.
Burial was in the Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may go to the First Presbyterian Church or the Parkview Home Health and Hospice.

Jack Begley
Jack Begley, 58, of Versailles, died Sunday, November 26, 2004 at Christ Hospital, Cincinnati. He was born in Cincinnati on April 12, 1946 the son of David and Clara Noble Begley. He was married to Angel Elsen on October 22, 1983 and she survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Chris Begley and Jack Begley, Jr. at home, John Begley of Versailles; one daughter, Samantha Begley at home; father, David Begley of Versailles; mother-in-law, Margaret Elsen of Versailles; ten grandchildren; and one brother, Charles Begley of Versailles.
Mr. Begley was a driver for Roadway Express for 18 years and was a member of Teamsters Local 100. He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 1, at 2 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home, Versailles with Father Carl Hawver officiating. Burial was in the Grandview Memorial Gardens near Madison with military graveside services by the Versailles American Legion.
Memorials may be given to the Immaculate Conception Academy at Oldenburg in care of the funeral home.

Raymond M. Pratt
Raymond M. "Ray" Pratt, 76, of Vevay, near Moorefield, died Monday, November 29, 2004 at King's Daughters' Hospital, Madison. He was born September 25, 1928 in Ripley County the son of Ferman Pratt and Catherine (Massing) Pratt. He married Anna Lorene Hastings Pratt on February 9, 1996 and she survives.
Other survivors include twin sons, Donn Pratt and David Pratt both of Milan; two stepsons, William Stanley Robinson of Moorefield, Kyle Ray Robinson and wife Evonna of Moorefield; two step-grandchildren; one step great-grandson; one brother, Richard Pratt and wife Peg of Indianapolis; three sisters, Liz Grossman and husband Andrew of Holton, Ruth Day of Port Orange, FL, Velma Harmon and husband Charles of Osgood; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son Dennis Ray Pratt, two stepsons, Harold Vernon and Perry Lewis Robinson; and one sister, Agnes Pratt.
Mr. Pratt was employed for 28 years with Joseph E. Seagram's & Son Distillery in Lawrenceburg working in the sanitation department. He had worked the past five years for the town of Vevay in the maintenance department. He was of the protestant faith.
There will be no funeral services. Memorials may be made to the Moorefield Community Fire Department.

Rebecca Mae Thomas, 1 day, of Batesville, died Sunday, November 28, 2004 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital, Batesville. She was born November 28, 2004 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital, Batesville the daughter of Jeffrey and Stephanie (Cooley) Thomas of Batesville.
She is survived by one brother, Royce Cooley at home; maternal grandparents Paul and Patricia Burkhart of Batesville; and paternal grandparents Bennie and Louise Thomas Jr. of New Point; and many aunts and uncles.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, December 1, at 1 p.m. at the Rossburg Cemetery in New Point with Pastor Mark Vice officiating.
Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville was in charge of the arrangements.
