Helen M. Reed
Helen M. Reed, 78, of Sunman, died Monday, March 22, 2004 at the Waters of Batesville. She was born February 20, 1926 in Lawrenceburg the daughter of Henry and Easter Bowman, both deceased. She married Edward Reed and he preceded her in death on January 12, 1984.
Survivors include children, Edith Reed, Rosie Reed, Richard Reed, Karen Reed, and Sharon Reed all of Sunman, John Reed of Milan, Janice Kosidlo of Pennsylvania, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several brothers and sisters.
She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Reed was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in New Alsace and the VFW Chapter in Lawrenceburg. She was a homemaker.
Visitation will be held today, Thursday, March 25 from 4-8 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, Sunman with a Biblical service at 4 p.m.
Funeral mass will be held Friday, March 26 at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Church, New Alsace with Rev. William Turner officiating. Burial will be in the St. Paul Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Sunman Life Squad, Diabetes Foundation or given to the masses.

Everett Boots Felix
Everett Boots Felix, 81, formerly of Milan, died Monday, March 22, 2004 at the Dearborn County Hospital, Lawrenceburg. He was born July 6, 1922 in Milan the son of Edgar and Emma Johnson Jones, both deceased. He married Rosella Weiss Pruitt who preceded him in death and later married Wilma J. Ryan who also preceded him in death.
Survivors include 14 stepchildren, ten nieces and nephews and several grandchildren.
Mr. Felix was a former employee of the Milan Furniture Factory, Schenley Distillery and retired from the Alton Box Company in Aurora.
Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, March 25 at 12 noon at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan with Pastor Mark Klette officiating. Burial will be in the Craven Cemetery, Milan.
Memorials may be given to the Cleaves Praise and Worship Center.

Barbara Ann Schiphorst
Barbara Ann Schiphorst, 58, of Hanover, died Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at her residence. She was born September 25, 1945 in Madison the daughter of Herbert Graves and Bertha Niccum, both deceased. She married Louis D. (Bud) Schiphorst, Jr. and he preceded her in death on May 5, 2003.
Survivors include four daughters, Kimberly A. Morrison and husband Brett of Hanover, Cheryl J. Huelsman and husband William of Dillsboro, Anna M. Robinson and husband Richard of Hanover, Amber A. Schiphorst of Hanover, two sons, James A. Schiphorst and wife Donna of Lexington, and John T. Schiphorst of Hanover. Also surviving are three sisters, Pat Haveline of Milton, KY, Dorothy Craig of Madison, Sudoma Gross of Madison, two brothers, Noble Graves of Madison, Larry Graves of Lexington, 12 grandchildren, mother-in-law, Gertrude Gourley Schiphorst of Madison, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Reeves and Laura Catherine Jones, two brothers, Dick Graves and George Graves.
Mrs. Schiphorst was a member of the Hanover Baptist Church and worked 21 years at Hanover Nursing Center as a certified nursing assistant.
Visitation will be held today, Thursday, March 25 from 4-8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. on Friday, March 26 at Vail-Holt Funeral Home, Hanover. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 26 at the funeral home with Anthony Kasper officiating. Burial will be in the Grandview Memorial Gardens, Madison.
Memorials may be made to the Jennings County Hospice through the funeral home.

Larry Sturgill
Larry Sturgill, 68, of Versailles, died Monday, March 22, 2004 in Angel Care Nursing Home, Franklin. He was born May 29, 1935 in Knott County, Kentucky, the son of Irvin Sturgill and Thelma (Caudill) Sturgill, both deceased.
Survivors include four sisters, Iris Walston of Aurora, Sherley Baugh, Judy Rork, Barbara Myers all of Versailles, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Irvin Sturgill, Jr., and three sisters, Doris Elrod, Joyce Hickerson and Lois Boston.
Mr. Sturgill was a farm hand on a tobacco farm and a member of the Pilgrim Home Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 24 at 4 p.m. at Bovard-Holt-Furst Funeral Home, Versailles with Ed Holbrook officiating. Burial was in the Grandview Memorial Gardens, Madison. Memorials may be made to New Horizon's.

Geraldine (Gerrie) M. Dresselhaus
Geraldine (Gerrie) M. Dresselhaus, 79, of Lawrenceburg, died Sunday, March 14, 2004 at the Dearborn County Hospital, Lawrenceburg. She was born February 18, 1925 in Florence, the daughter of John Lee and Lillie Bennett, both deceased. She married Dale Dresselhaus and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Ann Taylor of Lawrenceburg, Carolyn Caswell of Aurora, Barbara Fields of Dillsboro, one son, Charles Lock of Aurora, one sister, Marjorie Pettit of Madison, 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
Mrs. Dresselhaus was a lifetime member of the Aurora VFW Ladies Auxiliary and past volunteer Pink Lady at the Dearborn County Hospital. She was a homemaker.
Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, March 18 at 1:00 p.m. at Filter Funeral Home, Aurora. Burial will be in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

James Everrett White
James "Sugarbowl" Everrett White, 63, of Holton, died Saturday, March 13, 2004 at Kindred Hospital, Greenwood. He was born April 24, 1940 in Rising Sun, the son of John Henry White Sr., and Gertrude Marie (Ellis) White, both deceased.
Survivors include one son, Stanley W. White of Seymour, three daughters, LauRhona Helen White LaCroix of Seymour, Laura Jean White of Seymour, Darla Jo White Mejia of Seymour, four brothers, John Henry White of Holton, Howard "Butch" White of Rising Sun, Clarence Wesley White of Lawrenceburg, Charles Wayne White of Rising Sun, three sisters, Velma Marie Vest of Aurora, Esther Alma Miller of Rising Sun, Henrietta Lay of Holton and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Jamelle Marie White and one brother, George Robert White.
Mr. White was a former employee of the B&O Railroad, was a mechanic and a semi-truck driver and worked for Developmental Services at Muscatatuck State Hospital. He was a 1960 graduate of Patriot High School. He attended Diesel Mechanics School & Trucking School for Commercial Drivers.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 19 from 5-8 p.m. at Markland Funeral Home, Rising Sun. Funeral services will follow visitation at 8 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Charles Steele and Brother Greg Matthew officiating. Burial will be in the Rising Sun New Cemetery.

Kierra Michelle Sizemore
Kierra Michelle Sizemore, 6, of Greensburg, died Sunday, March 14, 2004 at the Decatur County Hospital, Greensburg. She was born February 24, 1998 in Greensburg the daughter of Michael Sizemore and Sherry Rigby and they survive.
Other survivors include grandparents, Alfred and Linda Nash of Greensburg, Wayne and Lois Rigby of Greensburg, Marvin Sizemore of Moores Hill, great grandparents, Silas Rigby of Napoleon, Nellie Hartwell of Columbus, Winona Hoffman of Greensburg, Aretta Broadus of Greensburg, two sisters, Shaylee Sizemore, Aliyah Sizemore both of Greensburg, 11 aunts and uncles and 13 cousins.
Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, March 18 at 10:30 a.m. at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home, Greensburg with Rev. Robert Browning officiating. Burial will be in the South Park Cemetery.

Michele Ann Martin
Michele Ann Martin, 43, of Sunman, died Tuesday, March 9, 2004 in Sunman. She was born March 20, 1960 in New Jersey. She married Jerry Martin and he survives.
Other survivors include her father, Frank LaGreca of Farmers Retreat, one daughter, Jennifer Martin of Knoxville, TN, one step daughter, Rhonda Noyes of Cincinnati, OH, four brothers, Dave LaGreca of Cincinnati, OH, Steve LaGreca of Bear Branch, Mark LaGreca of Dillsboro, Danny LaGreca of Versailles and one sister, Jean LaGreca of St. Petersburg, FL.
Mrs. Martin was a dispatcher at Mobile Com and a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. She was also a member of the American Quarter Horse Association and the Palomino Association.
Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, March 13, 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Morris with Monsignor Bernard Schmitz officiating.

Irene (Cleeter) Cutter

Aldean Irene (Cleeter) Cutter, 82, of Vevay, near Fairview, died Wednesday, March 10, 2004 in Vevay. She was born July 18, 1921 in Aaron the daughter Henry John and Laura (Oak) Cleeter, both deceased. She married Clarence Cutter on January 12, 1940 and he preceded her in death on October 30, 1981.
She is survived by one daughter, Lauragene Filsell and husband Bruce of Versailles, three sons, Arlen Cutter of Fairview, Denzil Cutter and his companion, Donna Jean Tinker of Fairview, Dean Cutter and wife Kathy of Canaan, eight grandchildren, Laura Freese, Laurene Wittmer, Timothy Cutter, Angela Sue Cutter, Jeremie Lawrence Cutter, Susan Cutter, Jason Cutter, Erin Havlin, two sisters-in-law, Hazel Cleeter of Crowne Point, Kathryn Cleeter of Versailles, several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Mrs. Cutter was a 1938 graduate of Vevay High School. She was a former restaurant cook and also worked at the US Shoe Corporation in Vevay and Osgood. She was a member of the Olive Branch Baptist Church near Bear Branch.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 12 from 5-8 p.m. at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, Vevay. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 13 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Richard Collins officiating. Burial will be in the Vevay Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of King's Daughters' Hospital.

Larry Lee Heffelfinger
Larry Lee Heffelfinger, 56, of Dillsboro, died Sunday, March 7, 2004 at the Waters of Ross Manor in Dillsboro. He was born October 25, 1947 in Bucyrus, OH the son of Carl Heffelfinger and Francis Patchett Heffelfinger, both deceased. He married Annette M. Anderson Heffelfinger and she survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Tony and Adam Heffelfinger, both of Dillsboro, one brother, Gary Heffelfinger of Upper Sandusky, OH, one aunt, Helen Conley of Upper Sandusky, OH and two granddaughters, Torri and Lybbi Heffelfinger, both of Dillsboro.
Mr. Heffelfinger served in the Army for over 20 years and was also a member of the Northcutt Laaker American Legion Post #292 in Dillsboro.
Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, March 11, 2 p.m. at Ulrich Filter Funeral Home in Dillsboro.
Burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery in Dillsboro with military graveside rites conducted by the Northcutt Laaker American Legion Post #292.
Memorials may go to the Dearborn County Cancer Fund or the Dillsboro Emergency Unit.

Charlotte Bohner

Louise Charlotte Bohner, 89, of Batesville, died Monday, March 8, 2004 at the Waters of Batesville. She was born October 7, 1914 in Aurora the daughter of John and Lena (Elbrecht) Detmer, both deceased. She married Paul Bohner on May 21, 1942 at St. Paul Lutheran Church and he preceded her in death on October 3, 1967.
Survivors include three daughters, Edna Puente of Batesville, Paula Bohner of Batesville, Cynthia Shrader of Greensburg, one sister-in-law, Bessie Detmer of Lawrenceburg, one granddaughter, Linda Schomber, four grandsons, Tony, Scott and Todd Puente, Mike Shrader, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren and two brothers, Elmer and Harley Detmer.
Mrs. Bohner retired from Batesville Casket Company on January 1, 1977. She was also a member of the Batesville United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, March 11, 10 a.m. at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville with Rev. Larry Marhanka officiating.
Burial will be in the Batesville United Methodist Church Cemetery. Memorials may go to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.

William Wesley (Tucker) Boyd
William Wesley (Tucker) Boyd, 82, of Elrod, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2004 at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison. He was born near Elrod on October 18, 1921 the son of Samuel and Hattie Calendar Boyd.
Mr. Boyd was a farmer and retired from the Milan Furniture Factory in 1980 after 26 years of service.
He is survived by two sisters, Rubie Boyd of Elrod and Rozetta Bradley of Rising Sun.
He was preceded in death by brothers Raymond, Orvin, and Thurman Boyd and one sister Edith Henschen.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 12, at 11 a.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home, Versailles with Rev. Bruce Fitzsimmons of the Washington Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 11 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery, Dillsboro.
Memorials may be given to the Oakdale Cemetery or to the Washington Cemetery.

Arval F. Grow, Jr.
Arval E. Grow, Jr., 83, of Napoleon, died Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison. He was born May 29, 1920 in Napoleon the son of Arval and Molly T. (Myers) Grow, Sr. He married Ida Young on June 22, 1942 in Durham, SC and she survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Janet S. (Tim) Foster of Napoleon, three sisters, Jean Booth of West Palm Beach, FL, Virginia Endsley of Indianapolis, Betty Dunbar of Indianapolis, three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Ernest, Denzil and Kenneth Grow and one sister, Norma Grow.
Mr. Grow was a retired employee of the Union Furniture Company in Batesville and also did hand carving and custom made furniture. He was a former Sheriff's Mounted Reserve Deputy in the Ripley County Sheriff's Department, was an Army veteran serving in WWII, was a member of the Napoleon United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of the Ripley County Saddle Club, a charter member of the Napoleon VFW and a member of the PVA.
Visitation will be held today, Thursday, March 4, 4-8 p.m. at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 5, 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Zachary Randall officiating.
Burial will be in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Napoleon with military graveside rites conducted by the Napoleon VFW.
Memorials may go to the Christopher Reeves Paralysis Foundation or to the Napoleon United Methodist Church.

Frieda Barton
Frieda Barton, 76, of Milan, died Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at her residence. She was born January 8, 1928 in Ripley County the daughter of John and Zella (Warner) Rueter, both deceased. She married Robert J. Barton on February 2, 1952 and he preceded her in death on October 9, 1998.
Survivors include one son, Robert J. (Diane) Barton of Milan, two daughters, Donna Barton of Milan, Katherine (Paul) Rosenberg of Madison, two sisters, Betty Thieman of Cross Plains, Ruth Hehe of Vevay and three grandchildren, Amanda, Sarah and Daniel Rosenberg. She was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Jim, Owen and Cecil and two sisters, Evelyn and Dorothy.
Mrs. Barton was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church at Stumpke's Corner.
Visitation will be held today, Thursday, March 4, 6-8 p.m. at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 5, 10 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church north of Milan with Pastor Richard Mackey officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may go to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Sunday School Fund.

Raymond F. Reed
Raymond F. Reed, 83, of Osgood, died Monday, March 1, 2004 at Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. He was born November 5, 1920 in Pleasant the son of Frank and Minnie (Gunion) Reed, both deceased. He married Nellie Conkle on February 14, 1940 in Pleasant and she preceded him in death on January 28, 1968. He then married Ruth Nichols on September 12, 1969 in Greensburg and she survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Sharon Riedel of Madison, Brenda Reibel of Charlottesville, VA, Mary Gonya of Goshen, KY, two step-daughters, Joanne Catron of Greensburg, Melba Colson of Gainsville, FL, four step-sons, Patrick Glenn Williams of Chattanooga, TN, David Williams of Lafayette, Jack Williams of Hayden, Clarion Williams of Greensburg, four sisters, Wilma Reed of Yorktown, Freda Thornton of Madison, Marjorie Olds of Versailles, Betty Shelton of Greenwood, thirty-seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Danny Keith Reed and one brother, David Reed.
Mr. Reed was a farmer and had retired from Bonn Aluminum in Greensburg in 1981 after 28 years of service. He was also a 50 year member of the Switzerland Masonic Lodge #122, a member of the F&AM at Vevay and also the Tanglewood Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held today, Thursday, March 4, 4-8 p.m. at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport and also Friday, March 5, 10-11 a.m. at Westport Baptist Church.
Funeral services will follow visitation Friday, March 5, 11 a.m. at the church with Rev. David A. Scaggs officiating.
Burial will be in the Westport Cemetery. Memorials may go to the Masonic Home in Franklin or the Gideon Memorial Bible Program through the funeral home.

Gertie Weisenbach
Gertie Weisenbach, 85, of Batesville, died Sunday, February 29, 2004 at her residence. She was born December 3, 1918 in Batesville the daughter of Ben Moeller and Mary (Bedel) Moeller, both deceased. She married Paul Weisenbach on October 5, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan and he preceded her in death in 1970.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen Weisenbach of Batesville, Susan Kerker of Oldenburg, two sons, Mike Weisenbach of Batesville, Scott Weisenbach of Batesville, one brother, Paul Moeller of Indianapolis, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe, Willie and Carl Moeller and one sister, Rose Flodder.
Mrs. Weisenbach was a seamstress for the Nobbe Clothing Company for 20 years retiring in 1982. She was also a member of St. Louis Church and its Ladies Society.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 3, 11 a.m. at St. Louis Church in Batesville. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Memorials may go to the American Diabetes Association. Weigel Funeral Home, Batesville, was in charge of the arrangements.
